Kind of depends what you're looking for. If you're just looking for an inexpensive one try one of the comparison sites e.g. Kelkoo. If you're looking for a specific one, e.g. a retro 1950s american one, then Kelkoo etc's still probably as good a place to start as any. Alternatively to get an idea what they "actually" look like have a gander at Kitchen stores - in Bradford there is (was?) an ace SMEG one at a shop called Harrison-Bailey but prices through the rooooooooooof.
Alternatively take a look at Comet, Currys, Miller Bros etc to get an idea of prices, then shop around for a better deal. Your local Euronics centre might be a bit cheaper (and has the advantage of independence).

I'm in this position as well at the moment. Like Rich suggested, I've trawled Currys and Comet for an idea of what I want, making a note of the make and model numbers... and then I've been online to the likes of Pricerunner, input said model numbers, and been surprised at the results.
If you find that Pricerunner doesn't return what you want, try shortening the model number. For example, Hotpoint suffix their model numbers with a colour code, so to search for FFA74G may prove unfruitful, but FFA74 may turn up a few more options (usually with colour choices at the relevant sites).
Good luck searching!0 -
Hi,
We moved in June and needed a new fridge/freezer. I searched high and low on the internet and in the 'big' stores.
Then, on the off-chance called in at a local store that sells 'seconds'. Found a perfect fridge/freezer, right colour, right size and a very good price, not a mark on it.
So, do all your searches on the net, but don't discount the local shops listed in yellow pages, they even delivered for free to suit me, ordered over the phone when I knew my exact size and took COD.
I know where I will go next time.
salyou can't take it with you...0
