  • Try lastminute.com - you can use this as a base to find out who is actually selling the holiday you like (use the ATOL number)

I think what would help is if you gave us more than a few crumbs.

The world's a big place, but I have no idea if your type of holiday is Bhutan or Benidorm.

Different companies specialise in different areas, and different people here have different areas of expertise and you're giving them nothing.

And you are using the internet to find a holiday?

I can't believe some of the obnoxious replies you have had. Your question seemed a perfectly reasonable one to me.

A search engine that I use regularly (thanks to the very helpful Saveapenny on this forum) is http://tawl.holiday.co.uk/(n1kjyk45g2vaee55irvbuv45)/hp/default.aspx?WebsiteGUID=cd695736-475d-4779-8f54-2ea6d62a6cd4&QID=62389&V=2.0.0.4 It is not perfect and is not always up to the minute but it is certainly a lot quicker and easier than trawling through lots of other websites to find out what is available.

Whilst I'm sure there must be some very good travel agents out there I have never been lucky enough to meet one. I always leave a travel agents shop feeling that there is something much better and much cheaper than what I have been offered. With a little searching on the web invariably there is.

...and the replies the OP received were perfectly reasonable too. As far as 'obnoxious' goes, the OP seems to be doing quite well on that score in response to peoples' earlier replies.

Incidentally, if the OP wishes to take 3 days to look at all the deals on one particular website I think they may be in for a bit of a shock when their selected deal could well no longer be available. The key to finding a good deal is doing plenty of research so that you know exactly when to jump when a fantastic offer presents itself. Prices can change hourly, never mind what they might be 3 days later.

Heres a shocking suggestion for you - pop down into your local high street and visit something called a Travel Agent.

They specialise in holidays and will be able to help

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, that isn't always the case (although it often is ;)).

But what they are is a great source of information for someone who is researching a holiday. (like you did ).

Especially for someone who is looking at
    - most destinations covered (not like Thompson)
    - possible to buy / see final price online (not like teletextholidays)
    - "any destination" search mode (not like travel republic and thompson)
    - "+/-14 days" date range (many websites have it anyway)
    - option to add an infant (not just a kid like on teletextholidays - affects the price ?)

I am looking for a holiday in September, so "hot/late deals" section would also be a nice feature to have ...

I also like Thompson's holiday types - Family / SPA / etc., makes it easier to browse hotels ..

Once they have then reduced the holiday options from every holiday in the world, then they can start drilling down a bit.
