Looking for an ideal holiday deals website ..

I know there are dozens of these, many covered in main article, but to check all of them I would need several evenings..

I am looking for the following features:

- most destinations covered (not like Thompson)
- possible to buy / see final price online (not like teletextholidays)
- "any destination" search mode (not like travel republic and thompson)
- "+/-14 days" date range (many websites have it anyway)
- option to add an infant (not just a kid like on teletextholidays - affects the price ?)

I am looking for a holiday in September, so "hot/late deals" section would also be a nice feature to have ...

I also like Thompson's holiday types - Family / SPA / etc., makes it easier to browse hotels ..

Thanks !

I'm sorry but surely thats not unreasonable?

A lot of people searching for their ideal holiday, especially if they have several important criteria will probably spend several hours researching the subject and then looking for good deals.

Even if someone could recommend a suitable website for you (and you have been terribly vague, stating 'most destinations') then surely even once you have found your perfect holiday you might then want to check that you have found the best possible price for it by comparing different tour operators/travel agents?

If you are that short on time or lacking effort why not just visit a travel agent, give them a list of your requirements and let them do the leg work for you?

Heres a shocking suggestion for you - pop down into your local high street and visit something called a Travel Agent.

They specialise in holidays and will be able to help

  • Agree, if you want to find your perfect holiday you have to be prepared to put in the time. I can spend days and days narrowing my choices down. It would make your searching easier, however, if you had a destination in mind. I like reading the forums on TripAdvisor for ideas of where to go and where not to go!

Such a useless reply, I am not asking to find me a holiday I am asking for tools to do it myself ... I am sure when you need to build an extension to your house you don't employ 10 different builders to see which one can do it properly, but ask for recommendations somewhere and choose one which ticks all boxes ..

Go to one that isn't closed?

I am prepared ! But I want to spend 3 days browsing deals on one website rather than 3 days x 20 (all available websites) ...

What a ridiculous question - I expect the majority of people reading this will have done just that, it would appear however that you don't like the replies you are getting

I cannot understand why it would take you 3 days to browse the deals on just one website unless you are on an extremely slow dial-up connection and you research each option available to the nth degree.

OK - here's my recommendation for one of the best user friendly comprehensive tour operator websites available - Kuoni. Whats the matter? Don't you like that one? It covers an awful lot more destinations than your usual website but considering you haven't bothered to mention where you are wanting to travel to then its not suprising that my recommendation probably won't be helpful.

As for visiting a travel agent in person, so 5 in your local high street closed last year. I'm assuming you don't live on a remote island so therefore you must have the option of travelling to another town. Failing that I have another shocking suggestion for you - try using that wonder of modern inventions called a telephone.

Please add this to your pile of useless replies, I shall be most disappointed if I discover that this one does not go straight to the top of the pile :rotfl:
