Probably a good idea for those affected to complain to Tesco. They will listen if enough people complain!

    Hi,
    Quick question:
On Tesco's website they are selling Nokia 1680 for £24.97 with 500 bonus clubcard points (total 548 worth £21.92?) so the phone is effectivley costing £3.05.
    Cheers

Actually there is a better way to do this promotion - I started last night buying phones in bulk.

The Nokia 1208 is the cheapest Tesco PAYG Mobile at £17.97 with 500 Bonus Points.

    1 Phone = 534 points (500 + 17 + 17 bonus) = £21.36 in deals

However Envirofone or Mazuma Mobile will offer £4 for each handset so for a spend of £13.97 you can make £9.99 in deals.

Or even better, send it back to Tesco Mobile for recycling and claim another 200 points!

So for a spend of £17.97, you can claim a total of 734 points per handset, which means £29.36 in deals per phone, profit £11.39!

    Happy Nokia 1208 hunting folks!

EDIT - You can increase this further by using your Tesco Clubcard Plus or Old Style Tesco Credit Card with an extra 8 points per phone (32p in deals) Or on the new style creidt card, an extra 4 points (16p in deals)

Is anyone else, like me, gutted about the maximum use of holiday vouchers. I have been saving them and taking advantage of all the wine offers etc to go on a silver wedding holiday to Malaysia - not much point using Virgin with tesco vouchers - I can actually get a cheaper price than through Tesco which makes it not worthwhile using the vouchers!

    Disappointed!

This is more down to suppliers cutting back than Tesco, as suppliers only get 50% of the cost from Tesco of the Deals vouchers we use ....

I thought it varied between suppliers, between 30 - 70+% depending on their bargaining strength with Tesco.

50% was the general rule of thumb we knew about in store, so a variation is entirely feasible. But the main point is it is usually the supplier who decides the value of contribution they will accept eg Goldsmiths must have a minimum purhcase of £200 for example. It used to be the case that the suppliers generally, though not always, ask to get involved with Clubcard Rewards and not the other way round, so they can call the shots with the redemption values as they do still need to make a profit as well, thats why you find Tesco rates appear on hotels etc.

I just renewed our Tesco car insurance and mentioned to them about the £40 giftcard new customers are being offered.

Lady said she could 'only' offer me a £30 giftcard as an existing customer 'or I could give you 2,000 clubcard points'...(£20 in Tesco vouchers, face value).

What do you think I opted for?:D;)

once changed into deals, or the clubcard vouchers?

Online it wont let you enter codes that dont belong to your account, so do you mail them in, and they dont check them - or do the other family members have the same surname as youself, as that way they might slip through

When I order my restaurant vouchers (I only use Pizza Express) they come with only my surname on it, not even MRS or anything so I give them to my husband or my stepson if they want them.

They went into town just on Tuesday and had right good feast;)

yes i know once changed into deals its easier to use vouchers not in your own name, but jmcateer is inferring they have changed other peoples clubcard vouchers into deals for their use, with no problem.

i just wanted to know how they did this, because i recently tried to order some deal tokens online for MIL (she doesnt have internet) and it wouldnt let me order them through my own account, as the codes didnt tally to my clubcard
