O2 and BT - Newbie Question.

Options
Can someone please clear up this basic query for me that I am having no luck in finding the answer to?

O2 are offering internet at a lowest cost of £7.50 a month. This requires a BT phone line.

So do I also have to pay £10.50 to BT for this line or does it mean i have to have a BT line in the same way ticasli/talk talk say I need a BT line.

If i have to pay BT £10.50 for phone line (just the line, so no freebies) and minimum £7.50 to O2 this equates to at least £18 a month for broadband and just a phone line.

I don't understand why everyone would rave about this deal if I have to pay £18 a month when talk talk are offering the £16.99 deal for same speed broadband with FREE evening and weekend calls (which I wouldn't get paying BT £10.50 a month).

I may be missing some major point. Could somebody please clarify.

Thanks a lot.
