i'm wondering what questions they usually ask when you activate international roaming? especially with vodafone? Is it an easy process or a difficult one? thanks

If you have some complications, it's a lot easier to ask CS than us. I registered a payt SIM for Passport just by using the menu options on 5555 or 2345. On O2 and Orange I simply asked.0

They don't ask any questions, they just activate it.
(sorry to the above person, I thanked you by mistake, wasn't concentrating on what buttons I was pressing)0 -
thanks for the replies. i AM in a bit of a unique situation.
Speaking of which, does voda block alot of the simplyfone /0871 numbers to call overseas? I can't make premium calls, so I have to use the 0871 ones and wondering which ones work for spanish mobiles and dutch mobiles. i've tried bestminutes, dialaround, phonebird, etc. none of them seem to work..
thanks0 -
also to add to the above, could you activate international roaming WHILE you're travelling abroad? Like can I just go into a voda branch in say Barcelona and have it done?0

bargaindoctor, investigate Passport and Stop-the-clock - using both it's possible to call off-peak from here to a roaming UK SIM for up to an hour for 15p on one phone and 75p on the other.
If you're in Spain and call UK off-peak, then it is 75p connect plus 5p/min to Vodafone and landlines - you could see if it's possible to use the 18185 London access number and make a series of calls to landlines, UK mobiles, and foreign mobiles, and count it as one 75p connection (press # between each call).
You'd probably be able to still call 5555 or 2345 in Spain, but they might charge the call. I can call Vodafone Germany's 22922 free from here though. I don't see why you need to leave it until then ...0 -
I'm not sure what the 0871 tariffs are - it usually takes about an hour to get an answer from any of the networks.
To call mobiles abroad, you could use a 18185 or 1899 account from the mobile's inclusive minutes for 15p/min. Alternatively, you could use a callback account for about 20p/min.0
