  • Oh Mudbath - hope you are okay xxx

£2.00 to Next today, its going slowly but surely!
    Moving on up :o SPC #382 ~ £40 banked
    12k in 2016 #15. £541.91/£3000
  • Hi gang.

Still trying to get myself sorted out but I have made a payment today of £131.75 which with my minimum payment going out on 5 Jan will clear my Mint CC. This is to cover all the PAD I have missed over the last week or so.:o

Not had very good financial news today our income is likely to be reduced so am having to have a major financial rethink. We have a property in Lanzarote which if we were able to sell would hopefully clear our mortgage and debts so feel that we will probably be doing that as we need to reduce our outgoings substantially. Also we currently pay school fees for four children . Two will be leaving school in June and after hopefully a foundation course with little expense for one and a year in industry (where hopefully he will be able to save some money) for the other they both hope to go to University in 2010. The other two have only just started school but we don't feel that we can risk committing ourselves to private school fees for them until 18, so as we don't rate the schools here that will mean a move to a different part of the country. Although we won't be able to buy a much smaller house because my Mom lives with us as well, hopefully we can buy a more energy efficient house as ours costs a fortune to run. So big potential changes in our lives. We may be over reacting but I don't want to constantly worry about money so feel that if we make big steps now and hopefully get some savings (what are those:confused:) behind us it will cushion any income loss and our outgoings will be more manageable.

Sorry for the long post but I feel better getting it clear in my head.

I will be back to catch up on all the posts before New Year I promise.

Love to you all lovely people.

    DTxx

I'd forgotton how lovely this thread was! Thanks frasersmum.
Double trouble - I don't blame you reacting now. My dd will (well might) go to university in 7 years so I want to get the mortgage paid off by then. It's funny how writing things down makes you make decisions. We've got 10 years left on the mortgage and we were going to fix for the 10 years. After reading your post i'm going to fix for 7 and make overpayments to clear the other 3. Simple as that...I wish!!! xx

Hugs to those who are having problems with their OH's and those who have been unwell over the last few days. These things are difficult at the best of times without having to manage them over the festive period.

well haven't had any PAD since xmas eve but have had a couple of cheques come in and am waiting for them to clear so I have put £4 towards my PAD today.

Hope you all have a good New Year if I'm not on here again before then

  • hi to been counting and theskintfamily!welcome2.gifyou've come to a great place & no doubt will be here a lot over the coming days and months...

good luck on your weight loss challenge, almar & terri. i need to shift a bit as well, belly.gifbut my head is not quite in the right place yet to join the weekly postings. watch this space, though! i think it's a "no" to x factor, terri - unless i want to end up in the reject bit that we love to laugh at! it's strange really, i sound *great* when i'm singing in the car, but less so when amplified through a microphone after a drink or two! :rotfl:

terri, i do miss massachusetts sometimes (but not now - dreadful weather and many feet of snow!) but i get my fix with hols back to my parents house. apart from the flights which can be quite dear, it's a lovely holiday and fairly MSE as well - we do the same kind of things we would do here (go for walks, swim etc) but with my mum and dad so doesn't cost much compared to a lot of hols. we were there for 5 weeks this past summer & are lucky enough to be doing the same again next summer. can't wait! usa_flag.gif sorry to hear about your split, look after yourself & take care. friends2.gifyou too, greenbynature - hope it works out the way you want it to! xx

let's have a piccy of your cow bank, fresian - it sounds lovely and those are just the colours i would have picked too!

have a good break jo - and glad you're on the mend, mudbath. this is a lovely thread, i agree! good luck with all your decisions, double trouble - it can't be easy but it sounds like you are thinking through all your options.

we nipped into town today to get some new shoes for DS2 (sadly, his size sold out in the clarks sale shoes so had to pay full price ) and for the boys to spend a little christmas money and bank the rest. it gave me no pleasure to get a bargain in our poor old woolies - we did, but i felt really sad. i love that shop!

pound to savings. all from me today. enjoy the evening. xx
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

    Hi all
Sorry to hear about the love troubles out there - you're all being so strong and dignified about it; I'm sure I wouldn't be. I'd have got the scissors out by now I think.

£5.29 for me today. The counting machine at my HSBC wasn't working so the chap behind the counter was delighted to count it all out by hand! LOL. I, on the other hand am delighted to have this down to under £150 and am hoping the get it to around £100 by the end of the month depending on when MS jobs get paid. Then get rid of it before the end of Feb.

Hope you're all keepihg warm. Hugs to all.

I've just opened a photobucket account and it took me 5 mins to get my piccy on here ( in the post below ) ...... i can't believe how easy it is .....When you open your photobucket account , make sure it is set to " private " ..... you don't want people to see your private pictures !
