Not had a good day today! Went out xmas shopping (for my presents) with OH and got a tad carried away. He asked me what i liked in the body shop so i pointed out a few things. Little did i know he was gonna buy me all of them! Then he went into boots and spent more:eek:. He used vouchers and got freebies but i just kept thinking 'i cant believe he's spent all this money on me'. Dont know about everyone else but i do the budget in our house (for everything inc xmas) and i never include me in the xmas presents budget. Why would i, i dont buy gifts for me. So every year (you would think i'd of learnt by now i know!) we or should that be i, have the same problem! Our bank balance looks totally shocking now and i feel i'm back to square 1 with our o/d. I know once pay day and wtc has been paid in things will look much better. Fingers crossed OH will/should get a decent xmas bonus.
Sorry for waffling, feel much better now. On a positive note i added 10p to my jar:p

Nicky - I know it feels like one step forward and one back but Christmas does at least only come once a year and hopefully OH's bonus will cover him spoiling you a little bit - perhaps he knows something you don't!

My OH's birthday is at Christmas time so its a double bubble for me and is driving me mad at the moment trying to think of things he'd like that won't break the bank.

  • £1.37 today for me to virgin.

Pay has been sorted (mostly no tax rebate yet) but not getting until Monday and thought it would be tomorrow. Heyho!

Everyone is doing so well and we are amazing especially to find a little extra at this time of year. I don't know about any one else but this has been one of the first years that I haven't paid for Christmas on credit.

One more working day then 2 weeks off..................Bliss.

    Enjoy your holidays!

First Chrismas in at least six years where it hasn't gone on credit for me :D I gave up smoking in September which paid for it in the Fresian household, and have started the Sealed Pot Challenge to pay for Christmas 2009. No more Credit Christmas for me :rudolf:

  • Hi All
Paid £2.47 to loan and paid £40.00 to credit card as I had to put emergency AA membership on card otherwise hubby would have been stuck!!! So back up to over £600, - I had done so well and was proud of myself, but hey ho, another challenge!! The numbers will go down and hopefully will have Christmas money to put towards this lot. Just under on Xmas food, only pickles and veg to buy. Yahoooooo!!!
Mortgage free as at 1/9/13 :j
To start work on the credit cards now!!
  • hi everyone, another pound from me...xmas-smiley-010.gif

    the good:
have an organised list for a quick whip round asda tomorrow for weekly food shop plus christmas food (don't need much)

picked up some lovely portraits of all of us today - first time we had ever had a "proper" photo taken of the four of us and it's lovely! (and was inexpensive, as a school fundraiser)

    the bad:
car needs a new heater blower motor (or something) - it makes the heat work properly, so really can't do without it especially in this weather. it costs 115 quid plus fitting costs deep_freeze.gif. so not terribly impressed the week before xmas, but at least we will be warm again on our journeys!

back sore again after major cleaning blitz yesterday. that'll teach me!

nearly friday, take care all xx

ooh - just noticed i have been doing PAD for a month now and have clocked up about 300 quid altogether - yay!
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A
