    Hi folks

I was really knocked for six on Saturday when I learnt that an old boyfriend from uni had died from cancer it hits home when it is someone from your own era my best friend from uni also died many years ago between Christmas and New Year so this is always the time of year when I remember him especially feeling quite tearful thinking about them.

    DTxx

    Hi Double Trouble,

Very sorry to hear your sad news, about your old boyfriend .... You're right it really does hit home when somebody from your own era passes away ...... I think it seems to be especially hard at Christmas time when we are expected to put on " our happy faces " because of the children or loved ones around us ..... but " secretly " we are crying inside ..........
    Take care ....

    terri x

Been extra careful this month as i've had to take some sick days due to bad back - tablets from dr dont appear to be doing much:mad:

hi everyone - and hello to anyone new!

still fighting off something but feeling a bit less lethargic today, hurray.

some silver to the pot today and a pound to savings.

Double Trouble - so sorry about your friend. i agree that it seems to be that much harder at this time of year, with all the festivities around us. i think emotions maybe are running closer to the surface, too. i heard "away in a manger" played by a brass band yesterday and was in tears, it just sounded so sad (in a lovely way...). and kids singing - don't even go there - just pass the tissues!
Mortgage free as of 11/11/15 !

Best wishes and a hug to Double Trouble at this sad time. Christmas brings different memories as we get older which I too have found out as I reached the thirties. Thoughts are with you my dear.

£5 to PAD instead of frittering it away in Tescos :D as usual for DP card . Have decided to use my gym membership payment of £25 which I have now cancelled and last payment went out today from Jan 09.

At long last that waste of money is over and can be put to better use :T
final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333

Statement for card I'm paying off arrived today. Since the statement I've already managed to pay off £64 that was owed to me from way back (0% card so not too bad); £10 from my piggy and £15.60 today which was some "left over" child benefit money......hopefully at this rate I will have paid off the card by the time the 0% finishes in September and most of it will have been via PAD (not quite daily for me but I'm doing ok!).

Got some Quidco money accruing with Xmas purchases so hopefully that will all arrive after Christmas....unlike my insurance renewal money from February (still peeved about that!!)
