    Afternoon everyone
Emily - are you enjoying your new house? how's the question answering going?

Last night DH managed to extend the time our credit card is interest free - the one with the extension and house repairs on - so i'm going to stop trying to pay that one off fast as it's interest free. We're going to divide the total up by 11 months and pay that each month so it's done, dusted and no more credit cards when it's paid.

This means that this challenge is going to help me pay the mortgage off. I've put the £306 i've managed so far as an extra payment and i'll start again when I get back from my holidays on 1st September. So, good luck for the rest of the month and see you in September xx
  • Paid another £5 off the Barclaycard. Does not feel too painful paying a little bit each day.

i really like this thread i always wanted to make small payments each day to my debt ect but i thought nah i cant do that but now with so many people doing it why not!? so could i join please im aiming to pay off as much of my hsbc cc as possible as this one is not interest free and also make a small payment each day into a savings account to pay off my braces when they come off as the snowball calculator said it take me 5 years to pay off but i only need braces for 2years lol and i need to pay when theyre ready to come off otherwise they wont take them off!! lol :D my hsbc cc is already down from £3115 to £3040 that inc my monthly payment to them.

and this is definately more satisfying than spending on them!!!! i cant wait to be debt free!

hi Stacy, could you not give them a ring a plead with them, see what they can do for you, as you say, youve never missed a payment before.

ive just put £1 in my internet saver and £1 on my CC, just looked at the statement and ive paid £7.02 which i think is good considering i wouldnt have done it if i hadnt found this thread!

hey nicnacnoo i did just that, he said u havnt had ur account for long (5months), why did u miss ur payment then said why dont u set up a direct debit so u dont miss it which we can do now, then he said as courtesy or something we will give u back ur 0% but what uve been charged is a fair charge but i wont be charged interest ne more. im so happy but also so sad bcoz i was doin well on that card paid loads extra off and the interest put it straight back up. with the interest i wud only b paying £5 off a month (if i paid £50pm)  so relieved charges have stopped and thanks nicnacnoo. :D
