Instead of putting towards a loan with a couple of quid being taken to the bank (which theyd laugh at!! lol), I'll just put it in a pot or tin that I cant get into. We were putting coins into a pot a couple of months ago, but everytime I got a fiver, or tenner, I put that in the pot too! We got £98 in about three months! Its amazing how much change passes through your purse without even acknowledging it.
Cant remember what we did with it though, it certainly didnt payoff debts. Im thinking food!

Oh dear...seems like this is quite addictive. Just got in from finishing work early and the first thing I did was think "ooh, it's after midnight, I can put Saturday's payment in my tin"... I think I need to get out more ;) So, that's another 50p added for me.

On another note, I have now also officially started my Christmas shopping so I can try to spread the cost. Was in the supermarket before I started work this evening and spotted a giant tub of celebrations for £5 that I know my friend will get hours of enjoyment out of :rotfl:

  • Hi all! Have completely finished christmas shopping! Managed to get both kids presents for about £130 total and I managed to get 'token' gifts for 12 members of family for just less than £40 (approx £5 each, some 3for2). Just need to get a gift for hubby, hopefully spending no less than £200 in total for christmas gifts this year!
It feels great having it done already and now I don't have to worry about scrimping for money closer to the time!

Have found a pot to start adding change to each day - if I find any loose change or if there's anything left over from shopping/hubby's bus fares.

Total in pot today so far - £0.57

Have a good weekend everyone! x

£1.50 to the evil loan and £1.50 to cap 1.

Frasersmum - i hope you have a good rest at your mom's. I used to love going to mine when little one was a baby. It was the only time i ever finished a cup of coffee, 'cause she would keep him busy! When you have a baby it's the little things.....
One step at a time ;)

Hi purpleposting, how good are you. What a lovely feeling. I think I'm going to aim to have mine done by the middle of November instead of that awful feeling of panic buying on xmas eve!
Take care gtx hope you'll soon be fighting fit.
Have a great weekend whatever you're all doing.
