It may not be to everyone's taste but it hardly warrants a poll and discussion does it? :p

Sorry but I was interested in everyone's opinion on this :o

Some good points made about using all the meat possible. Generally I wouldn't buy them - I do buy sausages but they tend to be the ones with a higher content of "meat" - in the hope that they contain less snout and ears etc :o I don't buy corned beef anymore after a cheap tin contained unidentified tubes and bits :o

But to waste food in this society is also a really bad thing - especially considering the resources that went into producing the food.

I suppose it's no worse than cooking up a pigs head and frying the brains (which I couldn't physically do and admire Weezl for her bravery).

But if I don't want to eat them, then I wondered if it was ethical to feed them to the rest of the family (the step kids probably would love them and I don't think their mum feeds them an organic diet or anything ;) - pizza hut and mcdonalds).

I'd give them away, because Hot dogs give me the squits, TMI, I know, but you did ask!

    I've been Money Tipped!
But its still meat? I can never understand these people who throw a wobbly at the thought of anything other than a nice peice of chicken tit or pig butt.
Just because the area of the animal which it comes from sounds repulsive doesn't mean that it automatically is, when it is recovered and away from the animal it doesn't look any disimilar than a bit of mince.

I have no problems with it.

Im veggie, so defo wouldnt eat them, but if I wasnt veggie i wouldnt eat them anyway - its not that its mechanically recovered that would put me off, its the fact that its not organic - God knows what kind of life those poor animals had!! thats my problem with tins like that - if manufacturers can find a way to use every last bit of an animal then Im all for it, but I would like the animals to have a nice life first, and in the case of these tins its highly unlikely they did.
I dont think i would bin it, probably give it to a homeless charity or something

I've had second thoughts - I voted to bin them but I didn't realise so many of you would eat them so maybe I would offer them to someone.

there was an article in our local paper a few weeks ago stating that local charities that provide food parcels for homeless and families on very low incomes are really feeling the pinch with rising food prices, as they rely on donations of tins and dried goods. therefore if you have something that you wouldn't eat yourself pass it on some charities rely on these donations to continue there work.
Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"

For people who say that it is still meat, should really look into how it is collected first. But also consider the other carp that goes into cheap processed meat products.

Waste not want not.. send them here I'll feed them to my brood.. they'll only get one each so hey ho..

I haven't been able to eat them since reading the David Pelzer books... if you've read the books you MUST know the bit I mean.. it attached itself to my vomit phobia and they haven't been eaten since
