Ok, poll for meateaters - if you were given a free tin of "hotdog" sausages that were from "mechanically recovered meat" what would you do???
I won't eat them.
I hate throwing food away.
Do I feed them to the rest of the family (even though I won't eat them)?
Do I give them away? Or bin food that someone else will happily eat?

Just donate them to a homeless charity or school fete if you can't bear to use them. Plenty of people will happily eat them even if you don't want to...;)
Or.... Cover in pretty paper and use as a door stop!!:D

Donate them. I wouldn't eat them myself but its a pity to waste them.0

anyone you know got a dog?
I wouldnt eat them either:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'd wrap them up and send them back to the company that made them, enclosing a letter saying you were given them but think that mechanically recovered meat is disgusting and therefore refuse to eat them.Weight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0

I once won a tin at a fete (coupled with an out-of-date tin of peas
) then passed them onto the next fete going. As other posters have said, although you may not want them, there will be others that would use them.

It's still meat, however it's removed from the bone, and I don't think in a world that is fast becoming unsustainable, we can afford to be too fussy....Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I think I'd give them to Molly Dog next time she stayed, as I know Mr LW wouldn't eat them (I'm a veggie, but he isn't).If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Well it's looking mostly like donate them or eat them

I'd probably eat them - cheapo hotdogs aren't the loveliest food, but a free meal helps towards a No Spend Day. Maybe make a lentil or split pea soup and stir the cut-up hotdogs into it? Serve with crusty bread and a good smear of mustard!2015 comp wins - £370.25
Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0
