Good luck with your viewings. A complete pain to keep the house straight but if no one shows or doesnt buy at least you have a clean house. I have got to reply to Mrs Titchcombe though. It is another sweeping generalisation to say that boarding is not acceptable parenting. My older son has just started boarding. He absolutely loves it - has already done a couple of weeks last year. He is with his friends and comes home every weekend. Our younger son is a different matter. I dont seem him taking to boarding at all so he wont do it!

My father went to boarding school in Ireland many many years ago. Hated it - told his parents who insisted he stay. It scarred him for life. Obviously boarding is completely different nowadays. I know boarding isnt for everyone but it is suitable for some and it is our job as parents to ensure that we make the best decisions for our children. If our son came to us in a couple of weeks and said he didnt like it we would discuss it and if necessary rethink. We would save thousands if he became a day pupil but I know this is something he wants to do. If he wanted to be a day pupil there are plenty of options around here but it is just right for him.

I didn't say it was unacceptable, I just suggested I didn't agree with the concept of having kids and kicking them out the first opportunity you get via boarding. Doesn't quite show the love a parent should have towards their kids tbh.

This site is all about opinion and I have expressed mine.

We didnt kick him out at the first opportunity. I am fuming that you have indicated that we did. Who are you to judge? You dont even know us. I am fine with you saying that boarding is not for you. I am not fine in you daming us because we chose to do it.

You have posted on an open forum, you allowed me to be judge!

I never said you did kick him out at the first opportunity, I said "The "part time parent" option has thankfully been rejected." because I am glad you didn't!

Of course you say you have now, which I don't agree with.

Thats my opinion which at the end of the day you have asked for... so wind your neck in

Writing on MSE is hardly where attention to detail is required!

If I spelt every other word wrong (like the millions of times people on here put "loose" instead of "lose" or "morgage" etc) then I could understand it!

    ...Spelled !
This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !
  • What I liked was the Kids in the private schools "donating" their money (and ipods, phones etc) to the public school kids, and giving them somewhere to practice their later job skills.
