HTML files have wrong icon...

Thanks Lokolo, but these are real files, not shortcuts, so you can't do that type of change, it's an icon association problem in the registry I assume...

No, I mean that right clicking on a file to change the icon only worked on that particular file, I thought?

Can't test it here, as I'm at work, but I thought that's how it worked?

Open up My Documents. Press Alt. Menu Bar should appear.

Tools. Folder Options. View Tab. Reset Folders.

Does that work?

edit please hurry and try, i have work in 10 :P:P not sure if this will work on files as well as folders you see!!

Not that just resets the folder view preferences, if youhave it set to remember folder layouts for different folders.

The icon cache is very different - you cannot set a specific icon on a file (only a shortcut), it's set in the registry by the associated application. It's affected by the applications and file types.

There is obviously a problem with this on my PC.
