Hi everyone....can i just ask a quick question. Is it easy to spot what is reduced..ie in Asda you have rollback...in Tescos is there any difference to the SELS?0

Yellow SELs typically indicate a reduced item.

Tesco are changing their SELs from saying reduced to clear on them due to negative customer feedback. The new labels coming in will still be yellow, however the reduced to clear will only be there to notify staff of what to do with the product. To spot a reduced to clear product it will state RTC in the lower right hand corner of the label. This change was implemented because of growing customer complaints around the number of discontinued products and RTC products in store, leading people to believe that ranges were being slashed.0

Range changes take place on a weekly basis, so generally a Monday is a good day to start spotting reduced to clear labels on the shopfloor, however if the price integrity dept workload is large, sometimes these labels are the last to reach the shopfloor and it can lead to the item looking like its £1, but actually scanning at 50p when it reaches the till. The other good days are after seasonal events, so last Monday was a good day because Father's day had ended and a lot of the items went RTC. What to be aware of though, is that depending on stock levels and competitor activity some lines go RTC earlier than you would expect. It can still all be a big gamble, and we don't really find out instore until the change happens.0 -
