In my Tesco the bicycling gear was reduced. Got 2 bike helmets at £1.70 each. Great to put away for dd and oh for Christmas.

plus flora buttery, still on offer @80p (about half price), not yellow lable.:jAlso, whiskers cat food, traditional in gravy, marked at two for £5, going through at £1.86 for pack of 12 pouches, normally £3.37.

Re earlier post. There are still some of the 1kg meat joints out there in the freezers. Got beef with mustard etc crust going through at £1.75. Price on box £7. Got to say they are very tasty. Also got some HL chicken breasts last week again in 1kg bag [not new 900gm] for £1.62. They must still have some old stock about

Tesco finest cast iron stock pot (in cream, red or blue) reduced from £27 to £13.50. It looks like they are clearing out the 22cm pots to make way for the new size (full price) 24cm pots.

got 4 cushions today .lovely pale green cotton ones reduced to 50p!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked up a lucky bag type thing today for 50p. There were 2 different types Safari and Construction both in the sweets section neither were yellow stickered. I picked up the Safari one and it contains, toys, sweets and a create a scene thing. They're dated until May 09.

Also, Tesco orange jelly was down to 19p, the same price as value.

Bargain Meccano set in Tesco's

Saw in Tescos today the Meccano 7 models sets on a white SEL of £3.24 which seemed very cheap so i bought it and have just checked on direct and its selling for £12.97!

I am all for a bargain, and our tesco (north shields) has had plenty of the 4kg frozen mince down from £4.75 to £1.18 (reddish/orange packet). Truth is, it is horrible. Full of gristley bits and full of fat. Even if you fry it first and drain the fat off, and pick out the worst of the white bits, it is still awful. Family of six here, and none of us "fussy eaters", but all of us agree it is dreadful. Cottage pie failed, strong chilli failed. Not worth bothering with if you spot it.
