I bought some tesco terry t-towels today the yellow sel price said reduced to £2.00 when I checked my till receipt I was charged £5.00. So I took the receipt and the items to cs. She gave me £6.00 back. They were really nice thick t-towels and I thought that was a nice little earner I thought. So I told my hubby to go in and get another 3 or 4 for Xmas presents. I didn't go with him to cs but made sure he saw the right t-towels and showed him the yellow sel. He bought 4 lots and was charged a fiver for each of them. He has never done this before and he went back to customer service and she said oh no this has been fixed now and those are the wrong t-towels. They were the only ones on the shelf in packs of 5 all the rest were in packs of 3 or 2. They were white with big red check and some cream and brown. If anyone sees them it's worth a try. I was a bit mad that they pulled that off on him as he was quite bamboozled by it all and will not be doing that again in the near future. If it had been me I would have gone to the shelf with her and make her show me what she meant. The ad was certainly still there.

would LOVE tescos near me to actually enforce thier price policies- I have countless times picked up items because I believed them to be the price that had been written below them, only to find they are a whole new price altogether! then they have toi do that thing where they call over the supervisor to cancel the charge ...... they just either don't stack things on shelves in the right places or forget to change over out of date labels for promotions, its so irritating and they despute any such consumer rights to allow you the item at the listed price as it being untrue. I would love to know who to contact about this to get them to all enforce the errors!

DONT TELL THE CHECKOUT OPERATOR. If you have been overcharged, keep quiet and pay up. THEN you step outside the store, look at your receipt, look confused, then go to the Customer Services, point out the overcharge, then get paid Double The Difference and get to keep the item!

  • Not exactly a 'mega reduction' but a good value bargain. Tesco have rolled pork shoulder on at half price at 2.40something GBP per kilo (sorry, my keyboard is set to American). Its freezable, I got a nice bit that will do as shoulder steaks, BBQ'd bits, chinese style bits, and of course soup!
    skint but in luv :kisses2:

In our local tesco the Value Chicken stock cubes are now 10p, the vegetable ones 19p and the beef, (which they only seemed to start doing recently,) still 29p. Not sure why there's such a discrepancy in the prices, (anyone enlighten me?) but have used them all and they're fine for adding some flavour.
Hope this helps someone, particularly now soup-making season is upon us!

  • Tesco had B Barbie £40 down to £5 it's a barbie that comes with a mouse and you plug the mouse into the comp and it launches an online world for the little girl so she can personalise it all, also bratz fashion heads down to £5.(My local stores are Greenock and Port Glasgow):j

Also for baby/toddler wobblers or topplers as i would call them you push them over and they wobble back £7 down to £1.50 they come in lion, zebra and bumble bee.

Bob the builder trucks down to £1.73 as was his companions (they were going fast so don't be hopefull).

Don't know if all Tesco stores will have these bargins but worth a look.
