Also if you go into your item listing, there is a "edit your item" just click on there to cancel.

    It'a an age thing :D
  • Gmc, how long did you wait for a response? Did you send the message via eBay? If you e-mailed directly, it's possible that their overzealous spam filter has junked your e-mail. It may be that the customer would still wish to purchase the item, and they might be even more displeased at not getting it all than if it arrived and did not match the description. If it's something cheap to post, I'd go with rovers suggestion and send it with a note apologising for your mistake and a part refund, and an offer of a full refund if they prefer to return the item. Chances are they'd be happy with the part refund.
If it's heavy and/or fragile and you're unable to reach them by e-mail or phone, I'd send them an apologetic letter explaining the situation, offering the options of a part refund if they still want the item or a full refund if they don't, and asking how they would like to proceed.

Good communication always works in these situations.

I bought something that, when it was delivered, wasn't as described. I e-mailed the seller and we negotiated a partial refund (through Payal).

The thing to remember is that many sellers don't want negative feedback. When you buy an item from them, you check the item on reciept and then leave them feedback accordingly. If the item is wrong/faulty then in some ways you have them over a 'barrel' and can use the negative feedback threat to negotiate a reduction on the selling price.
