Be careful with the lightbulbs, the last ones I bought from there blew the lighting fuse from the one fitted in the bathroom several months later. The contact part has melted and stuck to the fixture! I've left it. I need to turn off the power and see if the remnants can be removed!
  • For any cyclists looking for light-batteries, they do packs of cell-batteries and AAAs.

I tend to use the CR2032 batteries for mini-lights on my bike. There's only 4 of these in the pack (the other 4 are CR2025 or 2013). But even with only using half the pack, I'm still getting a great deal for 99p.

They also do 4pk AA/AAA Duracell alkaline batteries as well, which work well in bike headlights (the big 10-packs stocked are only zinc-carbon batteries, which don't have enough kick to power a set of lights - they're more for remote-controls and suchlike).

    Other finds were:

    'Pomegreat' Juice
(1Ltr)- Natural Pomegranate juice. Normally quite expensive in the supermarkets.

    Pataks Extra-Hot Curry Paste
    - Much better value than the sauces. They tend to make more curries per-jar.

Aleyna Bruscetta Topping (Tomato and Basil)
. Something that's normally a bit pricey, so great to find it cheap!

Aldi are doing these at the moment. They're doing the eco-bulbs in candle-size, although I can't remember how much they're charging. They also seem to be doing regular filament-bulbs too.

    Hope that helps.

Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but they've started doing goat's cheese (the rinded chevre variety) in the chiller section. Lovely stuff. I didn't check the brand though.

Jelly Belly jellybeans (small bags) are also in stock, which currently cost £1.79 in the supermarkets.

I'd steer clear of the Gino's Pizza Cheese, though. It clumps together in the fridge and makes the pizza taste fatty when melted. Long and short, it didn't taste good (and after a few beers, that's saying something :D )

I picked up the Robinson's squash a 500ml bottle for 99p much cheaper than I have found in the supermarkets and I always buy a couple of bottles when I go incase they sell out. A couple of weeks ago I brought a 1L bottle of Ribena but they had sold out last time I went :( So I keep nipping in when I go past.

Dove roll on deodrant is good from there.

Our 99p store only opened 3 months ago and I think its fab!!

Watch the Ribena, it wasn't 1l in the store when I looked either 900ml or 850ml I think.
