Was funny wasnt it.
Ive been asked for 4 more sock monkeys now for my 3 grandsons and grandaughter. I saw on ebay some with clothes on and liked the baby one, might try to do that for the gd and camolage ones for the boys as they are all army mad.0 -
My daughter would love one of these but I have tried twice to make one and am soooo bad at sewing!
Love everybody's photos though - very well done!" Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start now and make a brand new ending. "0 -
I found this thread by accident, and thought I'd have a go - this is the result. We decided to call him Neville (no idea why, he just looks like a Neville!) and he has been monkeynapped by my baby daughter. He's made of 2 odd baby socks I had laying about. Not happy with his eyes, but they're safe for the baby0

Hiya
Rufusdog, that link was funny,I followed another link on there and there are some good designs to give me other ideas,

I like the idea of making an alien type toy so have saved it until I get some more appropriate socks
I did get three pairs of boys socks for £1 from Primark, they are good colours,I'm gonna give making smaller ones a go with these
I made a nice black and white stripey monkey with some socks I already had but I got a bit above meselfand made it without looking at the instructions.I stupidly started at the wrong end (stitched down to the cuff instead of the toe for the legs) so his legs are much shorter than they should be and I had to sew the top of his head together but my DS loves this one too although the rest of my family think he looks more like a cow than a monkey.lol
