I think with this price, we will go with BnQ, probably is silly to think this, but if anything goes wrong I think BnQ more reliable at getting fixed??!
Good morning: I haven't had first hand experience with B&Q kitchen fitting but I have noticed several threads over the last few years detailing problems MSErs have experienced. I'm fortunate enough to have an OH who is multitrade to fit my kitchens etc . I know you'll be better off in terms of quality and price to source your own kitchen fitter.

I have booked to see the sales advisor on Saturday I think he was taking us for a ride. We are in no rush to buy a kitchen I will cancel the order and look around unless they offer us a huge discount. Many thanks for all your help
This site is brilliant

We're very impressed with the quality of the kitchen etc., and very pleased we chose Wickes.
Thats a big discount. MFI gave me a discount of £900 only! which was the washing machine and delivery costs. Considering the washing machine must have cost them not more then a few hundred quid it was not much of a discount
I am off to wicked this evening with the MFI designs. I wount mention the price they quoted otherwise they will try to knock a few thousand off and give me a quote for 10k. If they do ask me i will say they quoted me 7-8k0 -

Aim for a price under £4k at Wickes (well, not just Wickes actually - same applies to B&Q and MFI). I wouldn't mention the MFI price, but do state that you are a serious buyer and will buy if the price is right. And dont forget the price match on appliances - get them to knock down the price of the units first, then ask them if they price match on the appliances (they do) and go to work on the appliance prices. You'll know when you're getting to the lowest price when they've had to go to speak to their manager (twice). Oh, and don't fall for the "I can give you this price but you have to sign today" routine. There's no way they're going to refuse your business in this economic climate.
Re: B&Q kitchens, they have *apparently* switched to using in-house fitters only from another Kingfisher company. That should improve the quality of the fittings as they had a very bad reputation. My OHs parents had a B&Q kitchen, but their fitter was the B&Q troubleshooter that used to go round correcting the rubbish installs that the other self-employed fitters did.0 -

We ordered the kitchen back in May when it was sale time but every month is sale time due to the state of the economy these days. Had it delivered in July as to fit in with the kitchen fitters. The applicances are Electrolux and the washing machine is just WONDERFUL! :T very impressed with everything from units through to delivery (no charge). Our kitchen designer was GREAT and I actually wrote to Wickes to thank them for everything. Hope you get a good deal and happy shopping.0 -
I doubt saving much on the appliances as we need all of them fitted with the kitchen.
?
You can buy your own appliances to be fitted in. Anything integrated is standard size anywhere. MFI don't have special sized appliances and I'm really, really telling you to find your own kitchen fitter if you want to bring the kitchen in much, much cheaper. So it doesn't matter where you buy appliances from.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
