laptop adding memory

I have a acer aspire 5003wlmi add need to add more memory,currently 256MB DDR,how much can i add,and how easy is to do.

REMOVE THE BATTERY and DO NOT HAVE MAINS CONNECTED.

thanks, i will buy the bytestor 512mb from amazon,can you tell me if its just a case of unscrewing the appropriate undersection of my laptop and plugging it in.Because i was told it was quite tricky,and iam not the greatest with technical equipment.

Yeah I saw my friend do that on my desktop. No need to get messy

I have an Acer Aspire which is a few years old.. I would like to do this also and get the synaptics mouse point driver working again as I spilt Bacardi and Coke all over it :rolleyes:

checked the laptop user guide and its only upgradeable to 1 GB of DDR333 using two soDIMM modules,as it already has 256mb,can i remove the 256mb and insert the 1GB or will i have to make do with the 256 and 512mb,also will the above product be compatable with my acer 5000 series.

You are best using a matched pair. Throw away what you have and add the new memory.
