Hello. I'm new to this site and the world of credit ratings. About a year ago I checked my credit score on experian and found it to be quite good (can't remember the number, but it was above average I think, but not fantastic). I checked my score today and can't seem to get a score on any website - seems they can't pull my info. Can you think of any idea why?
I've lived in 3 addresses over the past 2.5 years. But I've been registered at my parents address since 2012. I have also used monzo for most of my day to day spending and my main bank account only to pay rent / phone bills and transfer money to my monzo.

Any help would be very helpful.

    Thanks.
You should be registered at the address you currently reside at
I work in construction and I move a lot due to the nature of the industry. The moves I made are considered my temporary accommodation which is why I haven't registered in them. Is this really the reason why my credit history is non existant?

Apologies if this isn’t the right board to post on,

ive recently become debt free having been on a DMP for quite a few years.
having made every payment on time to my debt management company, my credit file shows as some payments were late to a couple of creditors.
would it be worth trying to get these removed or would it affect my credit rating even more by adding a note to say I was on a DMP at the time?

    thanks in advance.

Do not add a note to your credit file as that means it will never be a straight pass / fail credit check, but a referral and review of your application by a human.

Just move on with your new financial freedom.

That’s what I thought with regards to the note, so shall avoid that.
I know I should be happy and Don’t get me wrong I am, but it just annoys me when things are incorrect.
Would it do more harm than good if I asked the relevant creditors to review and possibly Correct the late payment information?

    D'oh

You will be better off starting a thread with a bit more information, eg dates etc to give a full view of what's going on.
You can write to them and ask them to rectify the info.

  • Hi, I’m new to this but have just checked my equifax record since last month where my score was at the high end of good, I’ve just paid off the last bit of 0% credit card due to end at the end of month, although I still have another 0% amount that has a while to go before that ends.
My credit score has dropped to poor!
I have never missed a payment or defaulted in any way, could anyone answer if it’s because I’ve paid off that debt? Thank you
  • Your score will generally drop with any change. It doesn't matter if that change is good or bad.

Ignore your score entirely. It has no relevance to your credit worthiness or how lenders view you.
  • Hi, apologises if this is not the right forum, I'm new to this!

I'm having a problem with vodafone which has affected my credit rating. I've just discovered that they have been saying that I've an unpaid bill dating back to 2019. This has been showing as a default every month since. I've been a vodafone customer for around 20years and my bill is paid by direct debit.
I've contacted Vodafone on numerous occasions, but they can't or won't resolve this issue. Every time I call them, they give me some nonsense answer, but admit that I couldn't possibly owe them anything!
This is a nightmare, and I just don't know how to resolve it!
Can anyone help me with this issue please.
    Thank-you

Complain formally in writing so you have a trail (keep a copy, get free proof of postage), then wait until they either reject it or issue a deadlock letter and then go to the ombudsman https://www.ombudsman-services.org/sectors/communications

Hi, don’t know if this is any help to you, but I had a similar situation a couple of years ago, where my credit score went down to below 200. I eventually discovered that I had unpaid debt of around £2.20, also with a mobile phone company, which was entirely responsible for this. I complained to them but got nowhere, but paid off the £2.20 anyway and my credit score gradually went back up over the next few months, until it was back to it’s usual level.
Did make me think what the point of the credit score is, if such a small amount can ruin your score

There is no point to your credit score.  Actually, that's not strictly true - there is a point to it, it allows the CRAs to try and sell you all sorts of useless subscriptions and services.  But since only you and the CRA ever see the score they give you, it has no real purpose when it comes to obtaining credit.  Lenders take the data contained within your file, feed those data into their algorithms, and spit out their own internal score, which neither you nor anyone else will ever see.
