Hi, i have a quick question about my credit file.
I have lived at my current address since 11/2004, however i didnt go on the electoral role until 04/2007, so there is a gap in the dates on my report. Is there any way i can get the information back dated on the electoral role? if not will this affect my credit rating?
thanks0 -

Sorry, not allowed. Dates cannot be changed retrospectively. If not, will this affect my credit rating?
It won't help, certainly. Lenders like stability, so the longer you've lived at your current address the better and it's best to enrol as soon as practicable after you move.People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
10 weeks ago I applied for the best credit card deal on this site and got rejected.
Then applied for around another 2 and didn't get them. Also applied for at least 1 mobile contract and again got rejected. This was before I read it was supposedly bad to keep applying!
I've just signed up for Experian’s Credit Expert 30 day free trial and was expecting to see a record of all this on my report. But the only record is for Abbey/Santander checking my file a few weeks ago.
I've got 8 satisfactory credit accounts (including 4 settled accounts), total £2k credit available. Big whoop!:rotfl:I'm on the electrol roll at current address for 4+ years
How does any company know how many cards/credit I have applied for if it's not on this report??
Basically after getting this report I still don't know why I got rejected in the first place and why I keep getting rejected!:huh:
Also why should you spend a little on your credit cards each month because this report doesn't display that either?? All it has is whether you are late in paying!0 -
There are 3 major credit reference agencies not just Experian - you need to check all three.0

I obtained my credit check through Experian earlier this year. I have no CCJs or bad defaults, just one late payment about 2 years ago for a mail order company. I currently have a loan with Egg for which I pay back £70 a month, and will finish in 2010 and a credit card with MBNA which is about £1950 (£2000 limit) I'm only paying back the minimum monthly payment on that at the moment because that's all I can afford. I have just got a new job that will start around March time, at which point I can start paying off more, but I would love to be able to transfer the balance to a 0% interest card so I can pay it off quicker. At the moment I am unsurprisingly barely paying off the interest. I applied about a year ago for a new card and was rejected (with Natwest who I bank with) I applied for one a few weeks ago (Barclaycard) and was rejected again.
I'll finally get to the point! - The only really 'bad' thing that must be affecting my chances of getting credit is the fact that I have moved house a lot (at least once a year since I was 18, and I'm now 28) and wasn't always on the electoral register at every place I lived. But I can't see what I can ever really do to make that better; I can't change the past! Any ideas? Being able to get my cc balance transferred would make such a difference but I can't see that it can be done.0 -

Just a query if anyone knows, I currently have 2 interest free finance options taken out at the moment, one from July 08 and beginning of December 08, I recently tried to take one out last night and was rejected. Is there a limit to how many you can do in a given space of time i.e. a few in a month? Thanks0
-
Unlikely there is an official limit, rather it is at the company's discretion. I'm having trouble tracking down evidence of the factors that influence their decision0

so would you say that If given a month or so (i.e. some cooling time) it could possibly be a different outcome? Its weird how they work because I have never had a problem before I am just concerned as this is the first time I have been rejected0
