Hi all! Applied for the deal on here with 20000 club card Tesco points. Tesco System kept bringing up an 'error'. No e-mail to say application approved/declined. As my credit history/file/rating is pretty damn good I was confused. When onto my checkmyfile.com-found TWENTY hard searches on Equifax only!

Phoned Tescos 'application' team-they're aware there is a system error & said they'd contact T Mobile to remove.I did a manual application over the phone-DECLINED. Sent by 'signed for' ...a letter to T Mobiles credit referencing Team-asking for all but 1 search to be romoved. Have also lodged a dispute (I'm on the 1 month trial with Equifax) with Equifax. NO SEARCHES on Experian -credit score (I know these are not gospel!) 899. Credit score on Equifax-330 (!!!!).

Called T Mobles customer care team (they say no number for credit department-anyone know any different??-only letters accepted). very helpfull lady read my notes. To add insult to injury-a/c with T Moble APPROVED (overturned by underwriters) but a note on my file saying 'credit searches lodged properly-no error on our part-we will not remove them' (??!).

Has anyone got any idea of the best/quickest way to deal with this?? I think I've done the right thing(s)???!

To further annoy me-on calling Tesco Phone Shop back-one department says 'yes-we'll honour deal-call the Telesales team'. Call them-they say 'go to a tesco phone shop-they can overtide a credit decision-we need to do a FRESH credit search'...call original applications department who now say (this is after a previous manager in that department said it would be ok!) -'sorry-we can't help'-even though it's THEIR error!! Will probably try again this am when their telesales team are quieter...any idea good people??:(
  • Anyone else get a "call to verify" message, when trying to signup for the equifax trial, via quidco?

  • Hi, going to phone Credit Expert tomorrow to try and cancel the subscription after 30 day free trial. Can anyone tell how difficult it is to do and what excuse for the cancellation should I use?

    Thanks

You don't need an excuse - you've looked at your file and now you've seen it you do not wish to pay for ongoing access.
It will be easy to do - they'll try to suggest you keep it on or may offer a cheaper price, but if you don't want it and say so then you should have no problem.

  • Hi, i had an 'alert' on the eletorial role section with 2 different name ( as i got married) but i dont know why its showing default? can anyone else explain why this may be please
  • Hi - I'm very pleased I found this thread - and hope this is the right place to post this question - I'd be very grateful for any advice.

My company's payroll has just asked me (and a couple of others) to fill in a form for an electronic ID check - it seems a bit strange as have worked there for 6 years, but it may be because I've recently become a director of the company?

I am a tad confused, however, as it states that signing the form gives them rights to go through a credit reference agency:

"I authorise XXX to approach a credit reference agency with my details below in order to verify my identity electronically to satisfy the Money Laundering Regulations 2007. I understand that in the event that XXX is unable to verify my identity electronically I may be requested to provide documentary evidence as an alternative."

I am quite happy to fill the form in as have nothing to hide - APART from the fact that I am currently on a DMP (debt management plan) and have a shot credit history as some of the creditors are marking the payments on the DMP as late or defaulted. I don't care in myself about a shot credit rating but I hold a pretty senior position in the company and also handle company money ona regular basis and as such really had hoped to avoid my past history and poor money management skills coming to light at work. I obviously haven't told anyone there.

Is it likely that the payroll company will see all of this when (if?) they go in and do the credit ref. thing? Is there anything I can do to avoid it? Or am I best just to be prepared to have to explain to my boss about my financial past?

Any advice would be very gratefully received as I am having a bit of a wobble about this whole thing.

Thank you very much in advance - hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Being discharged bankrupt im trying to rebuild my credit and this obviously dont help.

I don't see why your personal finances should really have any bearing on your job or more importantly that they are any of your employer's business.

Just because you manage(d) money badly doesn't mean you're bad at your job.

"affordability" or your bank has a conservative lending policy
