  • Hey,

I've been reading through these forums for a few years now but I've never really had anything to share before... until now!

A couple of weeks ago I re-stumbled across this thread and started to think about which of my favorite companies I could complement. I started to send out a few short e-mails (usually through their website contact forms). Since then I've received quite a bit of post and thought I might share my successes with you.

Cathedral city - voucher for a free block of cheese
    Andrex - £2 voucher
    Blue Dragon - 5 x £1 vouchers
    Pataks - 2 x £1 vouchers
    Kingsmill - £1 voucher
    Nestle cereals - 3 x £2 vouchers
    Thirst Pockets - £1 voucher
    Nivea - 3 x £1 voucher

I've also received things from a few minor (genuine) complaints

Ben+Jerry's baked Alaska had very few polar bears - voucher for free tub
Venus razor blue strip kept sticking - £10 Gilette voucher
Starbucks watery coffee - 2 x free drinks vouchers
Local Greggs store never very well stocked - £3 voucher

just stumbled upon this thread - definitely agree with others that people should not make up complaints or email 'compliments' they don't mean in the hope of freebies!

I received a email reply this morning (quick turn around) from a drinks company whose drink we had at our wedding to advise I will be getting some party pack stuff in the post! Lovely company!

i did marketing as part of my college course and went to many marketing seminars, inc one at cadbury world, companies want this feedback good or bad so that they know what key areas they need to keep or improve. they often send things as a good will gesture. the companies i have contacted have been of products or services that i use. getting a response back is fine by me, they have acknowledge me, the free stuff is just a bonus.

its a proven fact that if you receive a good product or service you will tell 1-2 people usually a close friend or family member, if you receive a bad product or service you tell at least 10.

    Sample
    noun
    1. a small part of anything or one of a number, intended to show the quality, style, or nature of the whole; specimen.
  • I think she means she thought there'd be more by the size of the box.
