Cheap Airport Parking: Stansted Airport hints, tips and local parking

Hi

Going away in June and the Long Stay Supersaver rate at BAA Long Stay in Stanstead seems the best rate, only £33.50 for 4 days.

But as BAA don't allow any cancellations or amendments, what happens if my return flight is late or itself cancelled? Do get hit with some large charge for staying an additional day? Does anyone know?

How are parking charges calculated?
Car parks are priced per 24-hour period or part thereof. The number of 'days' (24-hour periods) charged for when you pre-book is calculated on the basis of the times you select when making your booking. However, if your actual entry and exit time changes and as a result your actual time in the car park runs into another 24-hour period (over and above that booked), you will be liable for an additional day's charge at the drive-up tariff.

Thanks. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with http://www.stanstedparking.org. They are coming out the cheapest at £26 for 4 days.

stanstedparking.org - basic unsecure parking by the main road, part of the local B&B/hotel. Transfer shared between few more local sites/private carparks in minibus. Leave yourself extra time for transfer if booking with them. You will get what you paid for - basic service. If I would live next to airport I would offer similar package - parking spot & basic transfer. I would not mislead customers by displaying nice (secure) carpark picture on the website, but it's up to them. My car is worth 600 quid and I was happy to leave it there, if I would drive E Class Merc I would go somewhere else.

Thanks - good to know. In the end I went for the official Stanstead long stay as it was only £36 for three days and I got £5 cashback from topcashback.

I've a 2 year old Focus, so will play it safe.

Thought Stanstead parking looked too good to be true any my interaction with them on e-mail didn't build confidence - they just use G Mail accounts and some of the spelling was strange.

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of using car storage Ltd, cant really find too much info on these guys, found a bit on trip adviser but where all first time posts. Any help would be much appreciated.

A couple of years since I last checked this forum when I recommended a guy in Takely for Stansted parking. Interesting to read about the various different experiences including the dodgy operators.
I have used Simon 8 times in the last 2 years, always a fantastic service for location (3 mins to the airport), personal service and price (still only £5 a day). It's safe (private drive), offers free transfers (a couple of times have got a cab back when late), saves me loads on the airport car parks and is a pleasure to use.

anyone got any experience with Pink Elephant parking or Stansted Alpha Meet and Greet please?

it would mean about 20 quid saving in compare to Long Stay parking but I'm not sure about giving our car keys to a stranger...? TIA

I was worried about airport parking when booking my holiday, I didn’t want to pay a fortune but I also didn’t want to get conned, especially with meet and greet parking.
