couriers for DHL@HOME

Wel i had the interview, i would get 25-30 parcels a day (except xmas, obviously its more then), and they are delivered to me about 9.30am,then i have til 9pm to deliver them.
I dunno, the guy who came was fair and did say to me "is your car economical on small runs?" Which it isn't,really.
Then when you are off (hols etc) you have to arrange your own cover, how would I do that????????????????????
So, all in all,it's unlikely i would take it, even if i got offered it.
And I cannot see how you could do the job on a scooter or bike, you would have to keep going home for the next parcel.
The round i would have is local to me, and it's in like a circle, so i would put all parcels in the car and go,can't do that on a bike?!?0 -
yeah they say it starts off on 25-30 parcels a day. It was this time last year i started and the numbers started creeping up and up and up. When i had to have a day off i pre booked it and they arranged cover. Your round may seem in a circle till the people you've carded ring you and you have to go back on yorself to deliver it!!0

You will need proper courier vehicle insurance, goods in transit & public liability insurance.
These costs will then need to be taken into account together with your fuel costs.
My cousin is a courier and he arranges his cover through Milestone Insurance, www.milestonehouse.com
They specialise in all forms of hire & reward insurance.
Hope this helps0 -
My dad is a courier and delivers passports so he can use his car or his motorbike. He earns a packet but does 6 days a week cos the earns double time on a saturday. yeah he spends a fortune on petrol but recently converted his car to gas so has halved his running costs.
he does work long hours but because he is delivering about 60-70 passports a day he is earning an absolute packet. And he starts really early in the morning and can be finished work by 3.

local pizza and takeaways are always looking for delivery drivers why not ask around?I'm an MSE SLACKER!!!! Slap my bum.
Been a long time but i'm back.0 -
Well they may pay a little more than DHL but its not as easy job as you think with nights now getting darker it can be a right pain in the bum finding addresses in the dark so 65p for a parcel, forget it, also working in town you come across some right smack heads and undesirable areas particularly at night. Its costs a lot to run a car and do a job with it0
