Can you help me with a list of essentials?

TBH Sazzy I would give yourself at least two months grace before starting to overpay. You will probably find that there are quite a few things that you will need a bit of extra cash for when you first move in.
I would start recording what you spend, from the day you move in or even now, very accurately - use ms money or similar. I started doing that about 6 weeks ago and I am still in the data gathering stage before I can set a proper budget (it would be a lot easier to work out just for me though!). Things like gifts and clothes can easily be overlooked and really these are in the essentials list to some extent, depending on the type of job you do of course.0
