You wouldn't know which one in the Langdales takes groups would you.

Here's a link - some of the National Trust sites can be pricey but are all in excellent locations.See information for groups

Hiya, Here is a highly recommended campsite that has the added advantage of allowing fires:

And like posters before me, I'd suggest making a few seperate bookings....

I emailed this campsite as their policy says no single sex groups and my DH is part of a fathers play group with surestart who were looking to go camping there. I explained this and that the children are a mixture of boys and girls and got a firm no. Unbeknown to me another dad had emailed the site a few weeks before asking the same, this time they said yes but advised they are not a creche!! The trip didnt go ahead due to the weather but I wouldnt go there anyway after the womans attitude.

I've succesfully booked my group of 7 adults into the Park Foot camp site just near the Ullswater Lake near Pooley Bridge wihtout having to be deceitful about us being together - phew!

Yesterday I rang and the lady on the phone said that as there are two couples in the group and we are in our late 20s it would be fine. I rang back today to book and I was told no? I don't think there are any hard and fast rules because after explaining I had already been told it would be ok the lady graciously accepted our booking (albeit with noise deposits).

I'm really looking forward to the trip - thanks for all of the advice. As always Money savers to the rescue.

As an aside I was given some good advice after booking - instead of claiming we where seperate we could have classed ourselves as 'the Salesian Walking Club' or something of that vain so we would fall under the heading of organised groups which the national trust sites are willing to accept (still deceitful of course)
Phone bill saving £690, one poll £8.25, bview £20 amazon voucher and £10 threshers voucher, cycle to work scheme £240 (savings since 25th June on travel costs), valued opinions £4.75, Cashback rewards £28.64. Total £1001.64

I was there in June, very clean and well managed site.

You will enjoy PARK FOOT, not too far from the mortorway and there are good walks out of the top of the site. Nice lakeside walk to Pooley Bridge and fell walk to Howtown where there is a hotel with a "walkers" bar at the rear.

Hope you have a great time, I go there most years.
