JB from the gadjet show did a test on 100 phones a few months ago (i did watch the program, and it was a good test) the Nokia 6500 slide won first prize, would you believe that the Nokia N95 didn't even come in the top 5

That's a pretty lame review for April 2008; the K800i has been about the same price on PAYG as they quote for the older K550i, but has the same resolution as the Nokia 6500, and probably takes better photos. Admittedly, they might be hard to come by now, but I'd expect that was the same of the K550i back in April!

I would have to say that the N95 I have now is not as good a camera as the K800i it replaced. Flash is very poor on the N95 and the autofocus is slow and software very annoying, especially the little menu that comes up every time after you take a picture meaning that you have to press cancel then ok to be able to move on and take the next picture. Plus I am sure that the overall picture quality was better on my K800i as well.

If a camera was the main feature I was looking for when buying a mobile then a top end Sony Cybershot would be the only thing that I would look at at the moment.

I have had such a poor experience with the K850i that it has been exchanged by o2 for a Nokia. The camera on the SE is good but the touch pad is a disaster.

If you insist on a K850i try this

and take a further £60 off with Quidco

Before purchasing my k810i last year in June 2007, I did some research on net and Sony pictures were better than other phones.
Having had the phone for over a year, I have to agree, the 3.2 megapixel camera has taken the best quality pics of any phone I have had (I have the n95 now but not compared the two ...yet).
One of the great things about the cybershot Sony phone is the autofocus. Take a pic in the dark the flash light makes it look like day (or you can just turn that feature off :-))
And there are sites where people have compared pics, the ones I had looked at generally pointed to the Sony coming out better for colour and quality of image.

I'd suggest the Nokia N95 8GB, really good photos and the shutter lag is not so prominent. I had the SE K800i earlier and the shutter lag was rubbish, could not get a decent photo in low light conditions even with the flash

I take it that the question is, which camera phone has the best quality camera?

That's what people seem to be answering.

AWFUL zoom though, I was really dissappointed, but for basic pics, yes it is OK, N95 is better however. c905 will be better :D

Same here; flickr.com's camera model search (http://flickr.com/cameras/) is instructive.
