pickledpink - why have you posted this post and your other hilarious post on the same subject in duplicate, on the main housing board AND on the House Prices board - where it actually belongs?

Wouldn't be because you're so desperate to ramp up property prices by any means, that at the first article for months suggesting prices might rise rather than fall, you multiple-post it?

This should clearly be on the House Prices board - that's why we have one. So as not to clutter up the main board with this kind of discussion.

And if in future you could limit yourself to only posting the same thread once, rather than twice, that would help everybody. ;)

NB For anyone not aware, the OP owns several properties and is worried about falling prices, so is desperate to talk the market up.
  • You're wrong, Carolt.......................I own just one property.

Anyway, now we know you don't believe what the newspapers say (or rather - you only believe what you WANT to believe) maybe you shouldn't take notice of all the gloomy predictions which were written!

Maybe that's why you've always only rented and have never owned anything of your own - you're a born pessimist. Very unhealthy that.

I really wish that there was a "retrieve erroneous thanks" button In no way do I agree with pickledpink..... - I meant to hit quote!! :o

I normally try to ignore the spellings/grammar issues that come up on here but pickledpink in turn shouldn't really be laughing at pinkshoes because:
My highlighting - think that should be "their"...............;)

Yawn yawn yawn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,yep, I made a spelling mistake too. But the difference between mine and the other poster is that mine was a MISTAKE - they didn't KNOW they made one!:p

prickledink.........who owns the daily mail? and whats his interest in all this ramping? property speculation?maybe
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I don't believe you. Many of us who own our own houses - myself included- don't mind about house prices dropping.

I think you have over extended yourself financially. In nearly everyone of your posts you have tried to talk the property market up.

So I take it you believe everything the newspapers say - like this one:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2008...rices.property

Is that enough for you? I got bored - there were TOO MANY. These are all within the last week, by the way.

I assume you agree with all of them? Or is it just the Daily Mail you agree with?

Here's some especially for you, then:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/frame-money.htm
see articles 31 July, Record 8.1% fall in house prices
4 August, Buy-to-let hit as rents fall by 20%
24 July, Four in ten buyers pull out of house deals

etc etc - sorry, can't bear to spend too long reading the Mail, but I'm sure you can find your own!

    Happy reading!

    Pinkshoes,

You really shouldn't laugh at other people's grammar .................

Standstill is all one word!! LOL:rotfl:

Good thing I'm an engineer and not a journalist then!! :rotfl:

Not sure how I got an A* at English Language! They must've got easier... But I have grasped the difference between "their", "there", and "they're".
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Actually, pickledpink, I own plenty of 'stuff' (far too much, lol, really need to get rid of it!) but unlike you, I don't define myself by it; you've previously posted that you view status as being tied to how much wealth, specifically in equity, people have. There we differ. Although you seem to find it impossible to understand, other people define themselves and others and gain happiness from things that don't have a pound sign attached.

I hope that you learn to define yourselves and others differently, or you may find the house price crash rather upsetting, to put it mildly.
  • pickledpink, thanks for the information. I also agree that it should go onto the subforum.

In future could you please title your thread in a non biased way.

House prices will stop falling next year and will soar 30 per cent over the following three years, a leading economics consultancy said yesterday.

Hardly "Set to soar next year" material is it?

It's a prediction by an agency that also predicted last year that house prices would be up by 1.5% this year.
