More money taken from my account than should have - whats my rights?

So having looked at my recent bank statement I can see my mobile phone company has charged me more than they should have for the broadband I have with them. Having spoken to them they have agreed this and they are to give me back the money.
However.... what are my rights here?
The phone company and myself have a contract between us and they have obviously disregarded that in this case! This is un-acceptable.
How far can I take this?
Many thanks in advance.

You deserve millions in compensation!
Take your case right here:

Of course you could have checked the bill before the money was taken out.0 -
In a way a Direct Debit is giving carte blanche to a company to request whatever amount of money they want from your account. That is why I have as few DDs as possible. I don't see why all and sundry should have control over my bank account.
As for how far can you take it? Well the company have agreed to refund you so I don't see too much of an issue. If they hadn't agreed to refund you, your other option was to go to the bank and claim the payment back via the direct debit guarantee scheme.0 -
