there is a lovely forest holidays site in aberfoyle - around an hour from you , with a farm 2 miles away which stores caravans .
As FF said it will probably work out cheaper , and then you will be more likely to tour with it -as you havn't paid for a seasonal pitch.
We are on a seasonal pitch near stirling which costs around £700 pa , but i don't feel as if it is great value as we like to tour with ours , so you are paying twice .
seasonal pitches are becomming harder and harder to find as more people take up caravanning, there is quite a waiting list at our site.
have you ever been to the scone site ? as we are thinking that might be one of our next visits
sorry i just realised i never answered your questions. No i havent stayed on the scone site - My sister has camped on it once and wasnt too impressed with the owner. I used to live in Perth so Scone wouldnt feel like a holiday lol
what other sites have you stayed on in Scotland - if you wanna give up your pitch near stirling to tour about i'll take it lol hehehehe
thanks

Have you tried the caravan club? We have a seasonal pitch which cost us Just under £900 from mid march to end oct.
Ours is at the wrong end of the country but I know that they do seasonal pitches all over the country so they may be worth a try.
We find a seasonal pitch invaluable and have recouped our initial £900 already (we also included diesel costs of towing every time we would go away). It is so good for us as when the kids finish school we can just go down and not have to worry about the hitching up, un-hitching, and then pitching and leveling! I know its not a major thing but with tired monsters in tow as well as the van its a bit much.
As long as you love the place where you get your seasonal pitch then you should be fine. Hope you can find one affordable.0 -
How about Camping & Caravanning Club. Yearly subs about £41.00, I think. They not only have club sites but everyone who joins is automatically affiliated to a District Association (DA). You are then entitled to camp on any meet, organised by any DA, anywhere in the country & these are generally a lot cheaper than commercial site prices. Each meet will be in a different place, within your area. The C&CC also have numerous 'certificated locations' or 5 van sites, which may be basic but again are cheaper. Also, DA's organise Temporary Holiday Sites (THS), which may run for up to 28 days for new ones (post 1990?) and others may run for up to 10 weeks. These will obviously be in favoured locations i.e beach/coastal sites & some are actually on commercial sites. Last time I looked, prices for a THS on a commercial site were in the region of £9 - 12 per night & that covers car/caravan/ 2 adults & generally 2 children. As for season pitches, can't help. we always tow & since we have a fairly up to date 'van, ours has toilet/shower on board.0
