Hi all,
As said but I cannot use IE to type anything on these pages. Really odd.
Using IE6. ANY Suggestions?
I also remember that there were a lot of issues with ie7. Well now I have ie6 back again should i stick or upgrade to 7?
Main problem I have is concerning Zone Alarm.
On Saturday, as soon as I was able I downloaded ZA to my system after doing a clean install. Comp locked up and wouldn't install ZA. Rebooted but nowt. Decided to DL again and couldn't get back online. Tried all that day and the next day to resolve and in the end Today I reinstalled everything from scratch but NOT ZA.
Is there an issue with ZA.
Really scared to re-install and have to re do Xp a third time, as I'm sure you can understand.
Any advice?
Also which antivirus is good?
ANY of the free ones recommended?
IIRC AVG (the latest) was having a few issues, too.
Thanks in advance.

I think this is what you are looking for http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1026197
I used to use Avg on an old comp but changed to Avast as Avg8 did not work too well on my old comp and I got fed up with the nag screen.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

I don't see how that can have anything to do with the OP's problem!

Why not go for an alternative browser. There is no need to re-install the OS when you have a problem with one software package! The ZA M$ patch problem was sorted in the latest release of ZA. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Why install FF when a perfectly good IE7 is availble to use. FF3 has problems too.0

Hi Expresso.
When you spend 3-4 Hrs waiting on line and finally speaking to 'tech advisers' that end up taking you everywhere but to the answer (Only got one machine so couldn't get on here) a 1Hr re-install is MUCH quicker.
I am also using FF but some sites need IE I vaguely remember.
So IE 7 is OK now then?
Where would i get the latest ZA from or is there a firewall that is as good?
I tried AVAST but it ran out after 30 days.
Edit - IS THIS the latest version of ZA?

I stopped using free ZA when they went to version 7 and insisted in you downloading the whole security suite, even though everything was blocked except the firewall.
It wouldn't install because it didn't like my AV software.
I now use Comodo, though I did try Sunbelt PF for a while, but it never worked properly for me.
IE7 has never been an issue for me, especially on this site.Dave. :wave:0 -

Same here, been using IE7 as my default browser since it was officially released. No problems I can remember. Before that FF was my default. Not sure how anyone can live with IE6. How did I cope before tabs?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

IE7 works perfectly well here and to be honest is almost identical to FF in the way it works (Almost makes me think MS just copied off the competitors browser
)
Another vote for Comodo here, very good firewall. Having worked in IT support for a long time and specifically supported problems relating to internet I have found that ZA normally causes more problems than its worth. My experience with it only of course.0 -

FF3 has a few issues, but FF2 is perfect, stable and works 100% with MSE, I rarely use any other browser.0
