I think you are confusing 'use by' with 'best before'. there's many of us out here buying things which are cheaper because they are close to their 'best before' date (or even, shock horror, well past it!!) who are still here to tell the tale.

found a tin of baked beans in my pantry lasy week with a use by date of 2009, tasted fine and still here here to tell the tale!

and @ Raksha - don't be tempted to keep OOD tinned beansprouts, I tidied my cupboards and seeing they were only a couple of months OOD put them back in. A few months later I kept getting a strong whiff of soy sauce but It wasn't in the place I keep it - had a close look and there were black spray marks up the back of the cupboard and all surrounding tins stuck to the bottom. The tin had fermented and exploded - there are still dark marks on the white interior!!

I bought loads of packets of very cute Kawaii style puffy stickers at the Coventry store for 29p each - brilliant for little easter gifts or party bag fillers. Not a million miles off what you can get at Paperchase or Monsoon for 10 times the price!!
Sorry not allowed to post apiccie as too new - but very nice!! :-)

The same goes for Tai Fish Sauce - you would not believe the smell....:(

Re tub trugs Not sure where you are in the Country but they had them in Alfreton, Derbyshire today. Various colours.

Woo Hoo! I've got some tub trugs! They were only 2.99 in local HB, (much cheaper than the very large plant pots) I bought 3. I'm going to use them to grow Chilli peppers and sweet peppers in in my greenhouse. Need to drill drainage holes in bottom first. Thay can be used for growing all sorts of veg in, Tomatoes, salad crops, potatoes on your patio. Nice bright colours too.

All the easter kit is out at my local. Normal bonnet making set at £2.99, but this year there is pink bonnets and yellow bonnets in a stetson style.

    Easter ears at 79p

    Easter chick/bunny dress ups for 1 - 3 yr olds at £2.99

    Easter cup for 79p

    Easter Egg hunt - £2.99

And a few other bits - apologies that I can't remember it all and apologies as well for any incorrect prices. I wasn't buying it.

I was buying 6 LARGE free range eggs for 79p. Amazing price!
