It may not be quite as good as Yardley, but apparently is made from pure lavender oil and smells ok. For 39p, not complaining!

Also picked up some little Angel tack-type fastening 'pins' or brooches, very similar to this:

Except the card states "14k gold plated, Austrian Crystal" and the wing crystals are coloured according to your month of birth e.g. peridot colour for August. Only 29p!

Looks quite good - wouldn't mind some of these for myself.

Not currently at any of my local stores - which store did you find them in ?

Just bought a pair of these for my husband as he walks to work, only about a mile and a half but a long way if you can't stay upright in the icy weather.

They only had the one size which are 8 - 13 (46 - 48) but they only had about 4 pairs left so they may have had smaller sizes in.

I haven't got my receipt but I think they were £3.59 a pair which is about £10 less than the outdoor/ski shops sell them for.

Do these work well? I have been considering buying a pair as I do lots of walking. Do they grip well?

May nip down and get some for my Mum, she's a 7 but they may fit. Where abouts are they?

On the right hand side as you walk in the store, half way down the aisle in one of the wire racking baskets at about waist level.

    ;)

They seem to have good write ups but will have to wait for the icy weather to find out.

I made myself some screw shoes (well screw boots really) but my husband is a wuss and worries about what he will look like wearing these things. If it stops you from falling over and breaking a limb I am sure most people wouldn't care less about what they look like. Sometimes standing up on slippery footpaths is an effort, never mind walking on them.
