for all you home bargains lovers like me, there is a massive new store opening soon where the old allied carpet store is next to matalan, derby. whoop whoop more bargains.

    Now
    that
    will
    be
    HUGE
    !

I was only looking through the open roller-shutter door of that empty unit last week and saw all the work going on.

No indication at that time what it was going to be

Looked through the perforated roller shutter doors today - all fitted out with the (empty) shelving etc, signs up on the outside.

Website confirms what I was told in the Normanton Rd store a few weeks ago ....

    .... OPENS NEXT SATURDAY - APRIL 24th

Sadly it NO LONGER LOOKS ..

    HUGE !

I'm guessing that within the perimeter walls of the EMPTY old Allied Carpet store they now have "behind the scenes" office space & stock storage etc. etc.

Sadly it now looks to be about the exact same size as Normanton Road :(

It will be selling BOOZE  - Official Council notification of licence application document posted up outside

Bad news of course is that they charge £2 if you park your car in that particular car park ... (that's for up to 2 hours - AND it is constantly patrolled)

BUT if it is the same rules as MATALAN (next-door) then Good news - you do get it back if you buy in-store, BUT there is a MINIMUM SPEND of £5 to do so.

I saw McVities mini croissants with strawberry filling in the Bolton branch for 29p a bag. They are £1 in Morrisons. They are gorgeous too.

Anyone seen any mini barbies/polly pockets anywhere cheap. Trying to stock up for a flight with a 3 year old!!!!

Lots of new gift bags in Coatbridge today. Hallmark mostly - beautiful bottle bags 25p and lots of different small bags at 12p each! They had Girlie ones, football ones and a few fancy silver designs, great bargain. These would fit either a Dvd or a Cd.

just spoke to someone, who I know, that was training at Normaton Rd and was told that they were still keeping Normanton Rd open, but obviously concentrating filling the new store as shelves were a bit empty at Norm rd. Didnt look like they had anything new from last week. Roll on Saturday when the new Bradshaw Way store opens and regards to the min spend of £5 to get your parking back, now that aint gonna be hard for me, lol

Might have missed it on the thread, but which Hello Kitty cushions, don't think I've seen them mentioned

The only Hello Kitty cushions I saw today were sew your own and they had 2 designs and also had sew your own Hello Kitty bag. There were £4.99 each and in the stationery aisle.
