Just thought I'd pop in as I know a lot of you are after the Iggle Piggle/Upsy Daisy (or whatever it is, I don't have kids!) dressing up costumes. The bargain store 'B+M' (Bargain Madness - isn't the same as home bargains, usually different stock) have these in as well at £9.99, so if you can find one it might be worth a try.
(if it's helpful to anyone, both B+M and Home Bargains in Scu*thorpe town centre had these in today)0 -
Hi ya
Can anyone help, aweek ago there was an incident that took place at Home bargains in Harborne where i got underchanged by a pound, when challenged about it , it was decided to do a tillcheck? , out of my view after swapping the cashboxes around first, question is is this legal, someone told me this is not right, then they sent sombody out to tell me the till was correct, insinuating i had lied about not getting the right change in the first place, this was in front of members of my family and other customers, one who shook his head at me and tutted. I had done nothing wrong so i contacted tj morris who were on the receipt, but so far i have had no sort of replyfrom them.
So if you go to Harborne Home Bargains watch your change, if it canhappen to me it could happen to you next.0 -

this happened to me at a kwik save once where i had given 10 pounds and she said it was 5 pounds, i knew i was right cos i had just got it out of my wages of 10 pound notes only, an elderly lady took the till out of sight with a manager and counted it , came back saying they was right and made me out to be a liar, so i opened my gob real loud arguing the point that it was counted out of my sight and either of those two could have pocketed a fiver,so other custemers could here me well. eventually they gave me my correct change, will never let the till out of my sight again.0 -
From the point of view of somebody who's worked in retail/cashiering for a long time, people DO try it on with the 'wrong change' thing ALL the time (I've been accused of theft at least 3 or 4 times working in a bank... complete liars trying to get me sacked so they could make twenty quid!), so the tills have to be checked, and they can't really be checked at the front of the store for security reasons. For a fiver to be 'pocketed' both members of staff would have to be in on it which is extremely unlikely. If you're sure then contact head office and ask them to look into it.
(edit) I'm NOT accusing you guys of trying to scam the shop, more telling what its like from the other side and why they have to do a till check.0 -
