Just heard that the old woolies store in Oswestry is going to be Home Bargains too.

Would have been bargain spotting everyday as the place i used to work in was next door but got made redundant in December.:(

Does anyone know if the HB in newport gwent is anygood?
Only been there 3 times BUT each time I spent £20-£30 mainly on grocery items - Pasta sauces, cook in sauces, coffee, crisps etc. etc. So can't be bad considering that I didn't go in there to buy anything in particular & I also know prices of things we buy normally.

Seem to miss lots of the bargains on here, maybe because I've always gone on a weekend BUT it's well worth going to have a look.

Mislaid my receipt but from memory on Saturday Chicken tonite sauces 50p (think on shelf it was 69p but scanned 50p), Brazilian Nescafe 200gm £3 (better than ordinary Nescafe) crisps 10p a packet. Chewing gum - ??? Ice - 10p a packet - OMG it's strong! Loads of chicken in various sauces from 25p for small foil sandwich packs (tikka & coronation) to 79p for Green Thai Curry ones. Just bought 1 of each to try first.

They also have quite a bit of Silicon cookware from 79p for a trivet to £3 or so for a largeish cake one. Some nice wall pictures from £2 or so. Lots of cushions. Lots of guitars £14.99 or so - didn't pay attention to what exactly they were. they just seemed to have a load of them.

  • Update on the Princes foil wrapped chicken for sandwiches etc. - Coronation & Tikka.
They are AWFUL - I'm so glad we just bought one of each to try. I won't be purchasing these again.
If you like them please post as I know not everyone has the same taste.

Anyone know if there are any bargains in the B&M store next door in Newport - haven't been in there!

Sorry if this has been posted I haven't got time to read through just now.

I went to H & B this morning and was delighted to find these bags of pre filled egss for easter.

    Hope the pic works.

They were £1.69 and have 18 eggs in a pack.

I always stress myself out every year trying to find small items to fit in the plastic egg shells.
They contain jelly sweets so my dd (1) will not be having them but I can fill a few eggs for her stressfree.
They are great for my boys though and as one of them turns 9 on eatser day I will be stressed enough :rotfl:

    Hope this helps someone

Hi WishI'dReadSooner, i went to both yesterday, bought a few items in HB (rowntrees jelly tot cakes mmmmmm!) then had a quick look next door but came out with nothing. To me it all seemed like homeware stuff not any bargains about on the food/front for me. Sorry not very descriptive i know but definately HB was the one to be in for me x
