Thanks for your posts LouLou. I don't get into town much and sometimes our Poundland doesn't have the same things as your local but I enjoy reading your posts. You give me good ideas for gifts even if I can't get them from Poundland.
Your latest post has made me realise that my granddaughter is now old enough for calendars and diaries, and the good news is I can buy her one every year as a stocking filler!
Thanks again for taking the time and trouble to post and including great pics!0 -
For those in Edinburgh:
There's a new Poundland opening in Princes St (near Castle St) tomorrow, Sat 16th Nov. They'll be giving out Golden Envelopes with prizes to the first 100 customers. Top prize is 1 x £50 voucher, then decreasing amounts. Poster in the window says 10am but some local Googled news reports say it's opening at 9am...? I took a photo of the poster but inadvertently captured my reflection in the glass so shan't be uploading the image!0 -

I bought the Frozen calendar this evening. The DIY section is changing quite fast, if like me you need exterior paint then now is the time to buy a small pot before it goes! (White gloss, black gloss and yacht varnish - otherwise ridiculously expensive to buy a large pot for a small job). Also spotted in the make-up aisle: MUA blushers. Oddly some packs had two blushers, and others only one. You can guess which I bought
There were some handy little cable tidies (Playboy bunnies / semi-spheres) in bright colours, 3 per pack. I also saw 300g boxes of lebkuchen (filled hearts or pretzel shapes): not my kind of thing, but it seems like a lot of biscuit for £1.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Got to watch what you buy in there, I had 5 items in my basket and they said £6 please. When asked why the said I had a £2 item and it said it on the shelve. I did not see it so I told them to keep it.
They should be prosecuted under the trades description act, if it says says Poundworld/land outside then they should not be able to charge you £2/£5/£10.
Watch they don't catch you.GONE ENGLAND0 -
Picked up a couple of calendars as stocking fillers, they do look like they are only worth a quid, but good as a wee extra. Will need to go back and look for a couple of the other items you have pictured when I have a bit more timedobbiesloan wrote: »They should be prosecuted under the trades description act, if it says says Poundworld/land outside then they should not be able to charge you £2/£5/£10.
Edit: And as you can see from LouLou's many pics, they are usually very clearly marked prices on the shelf.0 -
Two modest ones from Argyle Street, Glasgow:
Limited Edition Vaseline Lip Therapy Mirror Mirror (Hint Of Red. Kiss Of Apple.), £1
Was 75p at Superdrug back in May (other HUKDers say their store was cheaper)
Another 2020 Diary - Harry Potter, £10 -
Oh yes forgot to post, there were some cylindrical packaged scented Christmas candles the other day in 3 varieties. None were pleasant: the Frankincense was particularly dreadful and I can't remember the names of the other two.
Poundland does plenty of scented candles that do smell nice, so buy those instead!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
