Been to the one in the metro centre today got 100 silver and gold balloons for my daughters party, there ideal for weddings just need to get blowing them up now!!

I'm sure these will be fine, but I remember buying something similar from Poundland for a 50th birthday party celebration, and we were all in knots trying to blow up balloons that were duds. The few that we did manage to inflate (during the hysterics and trying to breathe again) deflated again almost immediately:rotfl:.

The laughs it brought were priceless. It added to the fun of the celebrations.

I thought it might have been just ours - I was hoping so, but you have to admit that it is so funny to see them partially deflated - after all the effort involved to inflate and position them in the first place.

Glad you too could see the funny side - :j

It really does add to the flavour. Good old Poundland - I love it.

Some Poundland stores have Michael Jackson DVD's. Good for fans or Ebayers following recent events, so keep your eyes peeled.

I have to say I must be missing something because I have found most of the stuff in my local Poundland to be complete tat

Most of it is, yes but quite regularly the shops get 'one-off' bankrupt clearance stock in, e.g. big name stuff like sony being sold for a quid. I remember I got an AMAZING torch gift set in there 2 years ago, went back the next week and they were all gone... This is the kind of stuff us MSEs look out for...:money:

I really rate the 10m drip hose for £1.
It's excellent- using it daily and o/n, v. economical with water. Remember to turn it 'holes down' into ground.
The £1 lidded storage boxes in lurid-ish colours with black lids are good, too.
To whoever asked for the Lance Armstrong book, I've checked back several times and asked - all sold and no more available, sorry.

Hi, Can anyone tell me which solar lights are the best to buy? In my store they have a chrome pillar style and a black lantern with a ground spike. I want to get a few but don't want to buy the wrong ones.
  • Woking branch has gone overboard on cleaning products this week - lots of stardrops (all different sorts), micro cloths etc.

They were also filling up the books, DVD & CD section as I left.

Just a few things I picked up from Beaumont Leys this wkend:
bucket and spade set... cheaper than buying when we get to Majorca!
their own brand paracetamol liquid, mini hand held fand with foam blades, mini magnetic travel games (says you cant drop the pieces as they are magnetic- yet to try it though!), barbie swim ring, travel adaptor.

Other things I saw: lots of travel and camping things- compass, cooking pans, suitcase straps, passport holders, alarm clock etc. Barbie arm bands and swim rings and the same but in a boys collection (cant remember- something along the lines of either Ben10 or spiderman I think), Heinz 7mth food jars @ 3 for £1, those long tubular foam floats you see at the swimming baths, badminton set (2rackets), giant water soakers, toaster bags, sugar (1.5kg), kids sunglasses-looked nice and not the thin cheap plastic either.
