The metrocentre poundland has the "LIFE ON MARS" and "ASHES TO ASHES" annuals

Do you happen to know which ones they were?

Most of the annuals now out do seem to be 2011, I avoid the Metro so can't be more helpful.

Durham Poundland Saturday had most of the usual suspects plus something not seen before:
Savlon antiseptic gel (to put on minor wounds, grazes, etc).

Also not seen before: Matteson's Hot & Spicy Smoked Pork Sausage, standard size.

Not seen Chris Hoys Autobiography in before. Also got Head and Shoulders Colour Care conditioner, not the shampoo tho.
I resisted buying the Scholl foot stuff, Heel grips and all manner of things . Had Vicks First Defence Hand spray

Tried out the Busy Bear pedal bin liners today. You need two, one inside the other, but with 55 in a pack (tie tops, 20 L size) and a pleasant lavender scent they compare very favourably with Tesco's scented drawstring bathroom bin liners at 23 in a pack - priced around £1.50 I think.

Onion sets are cheaper in Wilkos if you have one near you, 500g for £1.39, as opposed to £1 for 300g

You don't have to buy seed potatoes just use the everyday ones, you'll get more for your money and they grow just the same.

You are probably right BUT have you ever had blight?
It appears as bits of the leaves going black and you then have very little time to dig up the (small?) spuds and hope they won't go mushy from the inside.

I recently bought the Xanto StainXapp! carpet & upholstery mousse. It actually works very well indeed - It's at least as good (if not better) than the Vanish equivalent and much cheaper!

I use this and not only is is brilliant but I think it's better than the name brands like Vanish.
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

You can get blight from seed potatoes at well as ones in your cupboard. The blight resistance is in the variety chosen, not the tubers. Some varieties are more blight resistant than others. Cara, Pentland Squire, Pentland Dell are good maincrop ones. If you google blight resistant potatoes, and check them against what your supermarket has, they'll be fine. You can half the bigger ones after chitting them (putting them in a dark cool place until they develop sprouts)
I grew Roosters last year and they were good. Got far more than you get in a bag of seed potatoes!
