Went into poundland looking for these today, was hoping to use them for a cheeseboard gift too, but they didn't have any. Did find some lovely slate 'placemats' though, that will work just as well if not nicer. :)

do they have felt on the underside? if so i might see if our store has them thanks :T

I also, saw them earlier, as mentioned above but sorry I didnt turn them over. But you can buy felt pads from diy shops, which you could stick on if necessary, they were very nice.
  • I bought one this week also - and there is no felt underneath and has quite a rough feel to the edges. I was disappointed to find a chipped corner (under the protective card) - so try and check first. It was so heavy I couldn't be bothered to return - also it was the last one. But for £1, it's fine - the chip doesn't really show and it does look very nice on display in my kitchen!

Just been into King's Lynn store and someone cleaned the lot out this morning. Now putting out Ben10 Alien force humungousaur morph-lite, Cartoon Network packaging, with original price of £6.97 on it. Several there when I left.

They'll be on ebay by now then. Grrrr.

None in Dundee today. Pity my DS would have loved one.

Got National Trust bird seed, I thought it must be OK if it was endorsed by NT. Also very small but healthy climbing rose bush, I`ll plant it when the ground thaws.

i bought 1 of these when my mum died in 04, last year we cut it back small as it had grown over 6ft tall and covered an intire fence panel. it was held up with cable ties, looked lovely and certainly worth £1.

  • re the veg bags-- I just line my salad boxes in the fridges with 2 layers of kitchen towel and the veg keeps for ages--we are using salad spuds with sept 20 th date on them--very rare we throw anything out cos its gone off.Maybe the kitchen towel absorbs the damp and keeps them fresh?
I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....
