Hey there. *waves*
I wonder what you are going to do with your kitten when you get your own place or maybe go to uni? Look for somewhere that allows cats or will he/she stay with your parents?
In my college they expected you to be there all day, like high school and your "free" periods were meant to be study periods. If you're taking 4 AS's you'll only be getting one or two free hours... So, maybe you should start looking for evening and weekend work now, before everyone else gets it!

Welcome to MSE.
You could start looking for a job for the weekends as you can be sure you won't have classes then, also jobs during the evenings. Most people find it best to avoid working in the daytime Monday to Friday at your stage of education. Good luck and happy hunting.0 -
:hello: Hello.
Its worth looking for a little job now and see if you can just work weekends and/or evenings when you go to college. It would certainly get some money behind you.
As for the cat. Not sure it was a very good idea. It will teach you to be responsible. Certainly make sure you get it neutered or spayed so you don't suddenly find yourself with a bigger problem.
Good luck at college too.

Im just about to start y13 and I definatley think getting a job is easier sooner rathr than later. From Sept to Jan you should have quite a bit of free time at weekends and stuff to work, whereas after then your exams will need revising for and A2 coursework will need starting.I Shop Therefore I Am0

Yes, I agree it may be better to start job hunting now.
My other thought was that £15 a month is a lot of money for one kitten! What is that covering? I know you will have vaccinations and worming etc to pay for but once they are out of the way it should get cheaper.
As said, definitely look into neutering as the last thing you want is more kittens! Is it male or female?0 -
Hello
Thanks for the welcomes and advice , what a great forum!
I do have a little girl kitten , almost 12 weeks (called Jinxy)
Visit her blog spot for pictures https://www.jinxyboo.blogspot.com (think thats the right url lol)
When i move she will stay with my parents (more then likley) because they have her brother (Well half brother , one week older)
I have tried the old saturday job thing , all are saying they either have no jobs , casual work , or full time work , they said better tryin in sept as a lot of jobs are filled for the summer around here (Typical) but i am still trying..
I buy my xmas stuff in january which saves money
15 pounds a month covers - frontline flea treatment , worming , vacs , litter , genreal toys (i spoil her TOO much) and of course wet food (good brand) and dried good (good brand) lol

Do you buy your frontline online as it works out much cheaper, especially if you share the postage with your parents?
She really does not need good brand food - it's fine if you can afford it but daft if you can't imo.
Check out freecycle if you want toys but tbh my cat loves home made pom poms on string and small balls of rolled up paper as much as any toy she has ever had! She is 12 now and still enjoys chasing little papaer balls around the house!
You really need to start thinking about spaying her too. Ask your vet if there is any schemes that may help with the cost, although your parents high income may be a barrier to that. Worth a try though!
Obviously the vacs and worming will get cheaper but you can buy worming tablets online too.
She is very cute btw!0 -
Thanks for all your help , i only want her on good brand food for the first 6 months. Its just she is very small for her age, and very much on kitten milk again.
She will be spayed at 5 months (if she makes the weight criteria) and i have been quoted under 50 (not entitled to pdsa)
