i would've beaten fuk out of him, and the stupid security guards would've needed the police to get me off him.

but i'm assuming you're a woman, so probably not the best thing to do.
i would've left the kids down a different aisle and spoken quite loud to him just explaining that he's a rapist !!!!!!.

seriously DO NOT tell the police, if your cousins are going to want to fuk him over. tell you cousins, what store & what time and they may just "bump" into him another time.

unfortunately you may just have missed the opportunity to find out exactly where he lives.

The thing to remember here is that you would not be responsible even if he is still abusing children. Try not to feel guilty about what happened - it's an unsual situation and you just can't predict how you will react! Plus you had your children with you remember!

Have your cousins been offered any support as it sounds like they are still struggling quite badly? The damage has been done tbh so perhaps revenge would give them no satisfaction at all - it can't bring back their childhood after all and knowing where he is may cause them further distress (that's my feeling on this, having experienced it anyway).

I would say it is worth contacting the police as you have nothing to lose by trying. However, telling others in the area is perhaps not the best idea as it could make things much worse, and his (likely innocent) new partner would be a target too, whether or not she knows.

    What an awful situation :(
I would have followed him home and found out where he lived but you probably done the right thing especially if you had children with you.

This kind of attitude really annoys me. I know sometimes it's easy to get frustrated with the lack of action the police seem to take but what is the point in taking it into your own hands? Admittedly in this situation he does seem to deserve it, but we had a similar "offer" to "deal with" our neighbour after a heated argument which later turned out to be nothing at all and I would have felt terrible.

You don't need to sink down to the level of these people, stay out of it and let the professionals deal with it is my attitude. If you are unhappy with the way the police force is run, join them, work your way up and change something!
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right

    Thanks for the replies.
It does appear i did what most people would have. Had i bumped into him 5 years back kids or not id have given him the beating of his life (im male btw)
But now im older and wiser and id like to think more mature i was more lost for something to say than anything else. I mean id never have started violence with my children present but i cant help thinking a few words wouldnt have gone a miss, i mean how do i know he hadn't cosied up with this womans family and was now raping her children. Did i waste an oppertunity that some poor children could have been aching for?

I have played today over in my head athousand times and every scenario would have been different.

In hindsite if it were to happen now i would walk up to this woman even with him there and would simply say "im not sure you're aware but..." Even though my kids were there i doubt very much he would do anything, he was a pathetic excuse of a man, so small and dainty. I could have probably held him off with one hand. But right now i feel more guilt than anger. Guilt that perhaps, just maybe i had the perfect oppertunity today and blew it.

Not really Batley is a suburb of a much larger town, at a guess were probably talking about 10,00 or more people from a huge diverse range of countries.

I would assume he is one one many sadly.

There is a hostel in Batley which is a half way house for convicted offenders - including those who are a danger to children.
I don't know where it is though - could he have been out with a member of staff from there?
