why would you want to pay by cheque....use a card or cash for god's sake it's 2008!That's Mr CrapBag to you...;)0

I wish more places paid by cheque, our customers pay by cheque 90% of the time, we have to wait for them to clear before we can shop, it's a nightmare.
That's why we want to pay by cheque actually.
It would be easier.0 -

Do you mean accepted cheques? Why do you need them to accept cheques when they take cards?
Do you mean that you get paid by cheque so you can't pay out? Isn't it risky paying by cheque before money has cleared anyway?
Are you talking about cash flow? In which case all you need is a better budgeting plan; if you make sure you've got a one month cash-spending buffer in your bank, all will be OK. Just start saving MSE style!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0 -
Cheques......they are so last week!!
Cheques will be obsolete shortly.Envy is the most stupid of vices, for there is no single advantage to be gained from it.:A0 -
Why bother compiling this list?!
Most people on here are moneysavers - therefore will most use a credit card to get a percentage back on whatever they spend.
Writting cheques is sooooo 1980's!!Mortgage as Sept 2012: £96,000

Yes they might be old fashioned but still very useful.
Some people have recently bought holidays from The Sun newspaper, and I'll bet there were loads of cheques sent out.
They do come in handy for some things.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Rarely used in shops these days though. Not sure why people would want to use them other than sending money by post when there is no alternative method available.Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0
