BT - vs- Virgin bundles for a newbie?

Options
Hi guys'n'gals :)

First post in the forum but if been reading as many of the guides at the top as I can over the last few weeks as ive recently bought my first house and am moving-in in two weeks.

My question is about bundles from BT and Virgin.
Im after a bundle that will give me free weekend (and evening if possible) calls, broadband with no download limits and some form of digital TV for around £25p/m.

Ive looked at the 'Option 3' from BT, and the new 'Special Deal' that Virgin Media are offering for £16 but wondered if anyone had any useful advise.

I know my house a BT line already in (I bought the house from my sister and she used to have BT internet) but am worried that if I go for the cheaper Virgin deal I will have to pay a rediculous line installation charger for that?

Nevertheless, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cris :)

    Hi, thanks for the reply!

Im actually looking to get phone, broadband and TV all in for the £25 if anyone is able to comment on the above two bundles?

Ive just had a look at the Virgin T&C's and note there are quite afew 'extra' charges such as installation and delivery etc etc?

The installation on Virgin is £30 but if you buy online you get a £30 discount so really it is free. The postage costs just apply to the Mobile offers.

In the typical style of a uw rep jumping in to a thread to advertise his company's products, the post is misleading.

You cannot get that package (or any other from uw) without also paying the monthly membership fee (£1.76 to £3).

And it is only at that price if the exchange has your equipment in, otherwise it is £27.99 + the membership fee.

Worth pointing out the Virgin £16 and other deals usually requires you to be in one of their cabled areas.

The BT option 3 broadband package does not include phone line rental.
