I wonder if someone can give me some advice .
Something happened to my Mondeo and the electrics had to be sorted out . They have been but now my stereo needs to have a code inputed to let it work..
I have called the Ford garage local to me and the want £20 + to attach it to something and get the code for me.
Does anyone know if this is the normal price and practice,

Well I got mine by phoning a ford main dealer with registration
and chassis number, no payment required.0 -
I will give it a go by phoning another dealership.0

Go to Ebay & search for "Ford Radio Code" & you'll see quite a few offering this service for considerably cheaper than £20. Not tried it myself: yet!0

Good idea and for 99p worth a try.
Any Idea how to get the stereo out of the car without damaging it or myself ?
(I need to get the serial code from the side)0 -
You need the prongs to get stereo out, cheaper way is to drive
to halfords and ask em to remove it, takes about 30seconds.0 -

Don't you have to buy something from them?.0 -
Nah just be upfront with them, either that but an air freshner
... go on get stuck in, give em a bell just to make sure they can do it.0 -
Better put on some lippy then and drive up there .
Regard Halfords as 'Man Territory'0 -

Phone em first, P.S they shouldnt charge for 30seconds work, you might have to buy the prongs though, they cost about 2.990 -
Halfords only 5 mins away and I am going out anyway. Have to take the baby out otherwise I lose the will.
I will buy a magic tree freshener and try and get some sympathy at the till.
Will let you know how I get on.0
